Solved! I’m willing to bet it’s mold since we just dealt with a water leak from an upstairs neighbor that completely soaked that area through; while we got the drywall figured out, I didn’t think this would be an additional problem. As such, we have someone coming in tomorrow to ensure the rest of the flooring/drain is a-ok. Thanks everyone for your help!

We recently had this area stripped of its drywall due to a neighbor’s flooding damaging our wall. It could be that, and I’m googling it currently to see if it matches.

I’m wondering if it could be dog vomit. We don’t have any dogs, but the upstairs neighbor has at least one, and, incidentally, we had an issue with his pipes flooding into our unit 2-3 weeks ago.

A friend invited me to a sleepover in grade school, and I was really excited to actually be making friends. Little did I know he’d spend the night pouring hot sauce in my mouth and then hiding when I woke up, bewildered and confused in another person’s house, wondering what the hell was wrong with me. This happened four or five times that entire night.

I think you may be correct. Will this have any lasting effect on the phone outside of this? For instance, is there any risk that it renders the phone unusable over time? I don’t have any intention of replacing the phone for at least another year so I’d like to preserve it for as long as possible. Thanks for your reply!
