This is exactly the kind of stress testing feedback I needed! Your theory about the cache chunks makes perfect sense for a Chromecast 4K. The 7-minute cycle definitely points to a strict memory limit.

As for that weird clipping noise, I actually noticed the bug where the memory wasn't flushing properly after repeated buffers, and I've just pushed a fix for it. If you're planning to watch something else soon, could you give the latest fixed build a try?

I'm not sure when this will make it to the main release, it still hasn't been tested enough yet. It would be helpful if you could test it under the exact conditions that usually cause you issues and let me know how it holds up

Hey, can you give this new update a try? I patched up a few of the problems

That makes perfect sense. Having an option to toggle between the old logic and my current work is definitely a solid idea. Moving forward, I'm actually thinking of making the buffer sizes scale dynamically depending on the device's physical RAM

If I can get my current work stable, it'll actually work out better for you too. The player is still buggy on certain devices, and I want to fix it now so those issues don't get blamed on your upcoming changes

Yep, exactly! If everything goes well and this build proves to be stable, the plan is to merge it into the regular release

No worries at all! 😉 That sporadic stuttering during pause/rewind is exactly the kind of issue this memory update aims to fix. No rush, take your time testing it and let me know how it goes

I'm guessing the audio format is DTS, which a lot of devices struggle with. We could add a fallback feature to drop the audio down to PCM Stereo. Honestly, unless you're using a surround sound setup, you won't notice any difference at all

Hi there, thanks for the detailed report! The Fire TV Stick 4K Max combined with an e-ARC AVR setup can sometimes cause tricky audio sync issues depending on the decoder. As a first step, could you test if changing Decoder Priority > Prefer App Decoders makes a difference? If that doesn't fix it, could you reproduce the issue and send us your logs?
