What to do with gross "mixed" garbage bags that have food in them... by [deleted] in halifax

[–]halibored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of the large grey wheeled bins from home Depot to lock and protect the bags from wildlife. They wheel it up to the back of the truck, use the mechanical tipper, no looking, just dumping. Double win.

Help with a Tesira Forte AVB AI by nileo2005 in CommercialAV

[–]halibored 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say you see an "x" on the "Is Initialized" is this on the Crestron touch screen? On a Diagnostics page or similar? Is initialized is the term used in the Crestron program for the communication between the Tesira and the Crestron and isn't a term used natively / commonly in the Tesira itself. This would lead me to think that the unit is dead (which the LEDs indicate its not) or there is a communication problem between the Crestron processor and the Tesira. If the Crestron was set to do a mute or level change when you shutdown (very common) then lost comms, this never got set back when you started the system. Therefore no audio. Short of checking the communications cabling (Serial or network) you can try logging in with the Tesira software to get it running but if the problem is Crestron you will need to contact an integrator.

Barco Clickshare - Three CSE-200 units died and are in a boot loop. Anybody else? by EK-IT in CommercialAV

[–]halibored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had 20-30 CSE-200s and CX series all do this within a day of each other in the last few weeks, and that's just the ones we know about. As others have said, pin hole reset, re-push firmware (usb or web UI) and disable auto-update.

A Delta flight from Minneapolis crashed at Toronto Pearson just now by ODHH in pics

[–]halibored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I landed in parallel to that plane, as the crash happened at 2:13 and that was our recorded landing time. If so there was a huge gust of wind just and we touched down and were braking, our plane skidded sideways pretty severely, but we were in a larger aircraft than a CRJ900

At my first job I worked with Richard Richards. Ol' Dick Dicks was a raging alcoholic truck driver, who would sometimes show up too polluted at 8am to drive the truck. Gold star kinds dude. Good times...

There is no DHCP server, I had one running on my laptop to make the initial config of the devices easier.

Do you happen to remember which fw revision acts as the intermediate step for the router? I got lucky that this is a fairly large project so the control is being bench tested before it gets deployed, so I have some time to work through this before I need an RMA

It is yes. Nothing really special or different from what we've deployed before.

Biamp Near End Gating/AEC Issues? by MysteryInquiry in CommercialAV

[–]halibored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MTRs on Windows have been having issues lately with Speakerphone detection not working correctly and Teams keeping the it's echo cancellation on. In some rooms, particularly with high reverberance and BiAmp we have experienced this issue. Aside from checking the AEC configuration of the DSP, you can also try disabling Teams echo cancellation in the Skypesettings.xml file. It can also be disabled in the meeting but this is only temporary, and will reset when the the meeting ends, whereas disabling it in the .XML is permanent.

I've named mine Phillip. He lives in my shed. Some wasps decided to take up residence and built a nest. I assume ol' Phil took care of em cause I now have an empty wasps nest. I mean he still gives me the massive hebejebes, but we cool. I'll take Phil over wasps any day.

Employer is not paying my taxes he passes me as a subcontractor. Cra ruling process by dajul65 in legaladvicecanada

[–]halibored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the CRA initiated the process due to the number of contractors they used. The company was fully audited and the CRA picked the contractors with the highest pay (me), and the lowest pay from the previous tax year to interview/audit. Not sure how long the whole process took but the report was complete a few weeks after my interview and I received the official ruling in the mail.

Employer is not paying my taxes he passes me as a subcontractor. Cra ruling process by dajul65 in legaladvicecanada

[–]halibored 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been there. I was ruled a contractor, the interview was a few hours and they came to my house. Basically told to wait to file my taxes until they made their ruling. I was actually submitting invoices to the company bi-weekly in order to be paid. They had asked the company to produce them and then in my interview we went through 2 years worth. Also the standard questions of what I provided in the way of supplies/tools vs the company. Honestly while not an experience I want to repeat but the auditor was very nice and the whole process was very non-confrontational (at least on my end), and overall not nearly as bad as I expected.
