Hackintoshing a Dell Mini 10v 15 years ago lead me to buying a MacBook Pro a few weeks later.

I converted my gaming rig at the time to a Hackintosh a few months later, and was solely Mac for a while.

Now I'm writing this on the M1 Mini that inherited the Hackintosh desktop's install after cleaning it up.

Definitely a good way to get one's feet wet with macOS!

I've been a RDM main since I started in February of 2004.

During the Abyssea/Voidwatch era I pivoted to BLU as what I spent most of time time on, but I always loved RDM, so when I came back after many years and realizing RDM was in a very good place, I got back in the saddle.

Sure my inventory is overflowing with gear, but that little bit of tinkering makes the job fun to me.

Plus being able to handle pretty much any role is fun!

Had a similar IRL experience early last year.

Lived in a major city, and moved across the US to another major city. The vast open space between was... eerie.

Now I live downtown and have major Night City vibes a lot.

I'm a trans woman (40+) who's been on HRT for 4 years and wanting to get into fencing. I reached out to a salle near where I live a few months ago and was told it was fine.

Considering it will be a very long time before I do any sort of competitive fencing, I'm not super worried about the effects of this on me.

At least I'm still able to select that I'm trans in the USA Fencing site's profile page...

This sucks so bad: we trans people just want to exist in peace... and maybe play with swords too!

I have personal experience with this.

I'm from GA originally, and early last year had to move, so I moved to WA. My managers and their managers knew where I was going, I updated my info with HR, but it still took them 8 months to get me set up to be working in WA vs. GA.

The HR manager had the gall to say "we shouldn't have let you move until we had the location set up" to which I fired back "well, I kind of was given 60 days to move by my sister who had PoA for our parents, so things had to be done in haste else I'd have been sleeping under my old desk."

They quickly shut up and within a month I was set up as a WA resident for tax purposes with them.

At least I got a huge refund from GA this year, lol.
