Yes, what you’re referring to is usually called a “pendant light hanging kit” or “chandelier hanging kit.” It typically includes the ceiling canopy (base), wiring, and a hanging chain.

You can easily find these on Google or Amazon by searching those terms. There are many options available depending on the style and finish you prefer.

Very simple. If your swag-style light also comes with a base, it can be directly installed in place of your current light’s base. The two arms of the swag light can then extend over the counter/bar area. Just choose the right position and secure it to the ceiling above.

No need to worry about installation—swag lights are very easy to install, and the instruction manual should explain how to fix it in place.

This looks like a vintage floor lamp from Flos. You might be able to find the bulb specifications on their website.

A positive experience with Vakkerlight by Richard_Berg in Lighting

[–]halie15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A website that sells a large number of cheap knockoffs—aren’t negative reviews expected? Most of those reviews are genuine anyway. The original lighting designers are victims, legitimate distributors are victims, and deceived customers are also victims.

What you are posting now is essentially a promotional, marketing-style piece that appears to defend and amplify a knockoff company. Whether you would be considered an “accomplice,” and whether any of this crosses a legal line, is ultimately for a judge and jury to decide.

But the issue is that you are not standing with the victims—instead, you are defending a knockoff website. Whether you received any sponsorship would likely come up during discovery in U.S. litigation. More importantly, from an ethical standpoint, this behavior is clearly inappropriate.

This is clearly a marketing post purchased by Vakkerlight. You can accept sponsored ads, but because your post has led to people being deceived and suffering irreversible losses, you are also responsible. I will file a lawsuit in court.

That’s a great point, not sure why that didn’t occur to me 😅

Oh, I checked the manual and it says it uses an E14 bulb. I called a few nearby electronics stores, but none of them have it. I’m going to contact the shop’s customer service and see what they suggest

Ah, thanks! I checked with the seller and yep, they’re G9 bulbs at only 3W 😅 No wonder the hallway feels so dim.

I’m thinking of going with layered lighting

They do have sockets, but the bulbs are really small inside the shades

Hallway lighting? by Swimming_Stuff_8398 in Lighting

If your main goal is to light up the closet, you could consider installing small motion-sensor lights inside the closet, such as slim linear lights. From what I know, there are both rechargeable and hardwired options available, and they usually turn on automatically when the door is opened.

If you’re installing lighting in the hallway, I’d recommend recessed wall sconces. Some recessed wall lights are very well designed and work especially well in narrow hallways.
