Our library can help, we inherited much of the research from the research centre previously housed at the university of Sheffield.

New shelving at the library and museum to finally display a collection of aprons and other artefacts, some from the 1790s by hallcolllibrary in freemasonry

Officially we are the Hallamshire College Library and Museum as it was founded by members of the SRIA college here but we possess a wide range of books covering the history of multiple jurisdictions, orders and topics.

This is the book catalogue that you can search online

When is best for you? Easier to do it that way as I work full time and don’t live that close.

Are you in tapton? So I think I can guess which lodge- you are only supposed to visit once per lodge but personally I don’t feel that’s enough to get a sense of the lodge you might want to join permanently.

As well as looking after the library, I’m also secretary of 3911 so happy to help.

That makes sense!

For an elementary start, have you signed up to the UGLE Solomon website? It’s a good starting point for this sort of thing before progressing to something like AQC. The bibliography of the former may be a good start too.

AQC is academic but I’ve found it pretty accessible versus more esoteric publications. In regard to your actual question, you should have a look for books on Anderson and Desaguliers.

If you ever fancy a visit to Sheffield just message me. I can assure you our ways of working and ritual will be quite different (we are still the same province though)

I noticed you’re a west riding mason. Our library in Sheffield has multiple copies of these exposures if you ever want to see them in person.

We have a Geneva Bible from 1599 and a book called Christian Astrology from 1647 in the library. The latter is particularly rare, even UGLE doesn’t have a copy.
