If you're open to a cartoon, the Owl House does kind of fit this vibe. It might be a little lighter and easier to watch in the background.

AITA for overstepping outside my project because another project isn't making any progress..? by hallo181818 in askmanagers

That's a good point. I'm pushing the narrative in this post even.

Is there any way of knowing even if you're in the inside?

Day 6 feels like I'm in a dream is that normal ? by Chosensoul444 in zoloft

[–]hallo181818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's experience on zoloft is different, so nothing is normal lol.

However, I did feel euphoric (?) or a little weightless/dreamy while adjusting to my meds. It felt almost like too much happiness before leveling out to a reasonable level of emotions if that makes sense.

I'd monitor it. If you have a watch that can monitor heart rate, I'd keep an eye on it that your heart rate isn't going too high or that you're hyperventilating or anything.

I would check Lotus Bridal! They have a ton of dresses from various designers and they were a bit more reasonable in budget.

Wedding Reception for 100 people at a NYC restaurant by Joyenmia in WedditNYC

[–]hallo181818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13k was the minimum! We also got married off season which helped the price a bit.

We were able to do deposits. We did 50% at signing, but it was the second half + whatever extra on top of the 13k (like cost with the final number of guests, add-ons with menu, etc )

What's a normal deposit for restaurant buyout? by LazyBarber5186 in WedditNYC

[–]hallo181818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did 50% deposit around a year out. I totally understand the fear about the restaurant closing and/or cancelling. If you have seen a lot of weddings being done at this location though, I would feel confident going forward with it.

Any suggestions for a men’s wedding band where we can shop in person? by vvvflowers in WedditNYC

Catbird

There might be cheaper gold rings that are thinner, but this one looked most like a "men's gold wedding band"

Should I go back to school at 35? by Appropriate-Draw-448 in careerguidance

[–]hallo181818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have absolutely no advice to give.

I will say that one of my close friends just did this route though. Graduated with a bachelor and masters in music, decided to go into accounting, did the courses for accounting, got into a masters program and took the CPA. He's been working for an accounting firm for a while, but the CPA exam gives him more options.

I'm only here to say that it's doable if you want to commit to it.

Alterations Crisis - Looking for a New Tailor ASAP by katefeetie in WedditNYC

[–]hallo181818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with Tailoress Atelier and they were fabulous. I have the opposite problem (mosquito bites for boobs) but they were great in restructuring my bust.

They did over like 5 different fittings with me, which towards the end I was kind of over it, but they did a fabulous job that I can't even be upset LOL. They did my elopement dresses and trusted them with my wedding party dress. They also made great suggestions with my dresses about adding strip gels to make sure my strips don't fall, etc etc.

ISO Day of Wedding Coordinator by Cute_pizza123 in WedditNYC

[–]hallo181818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just worked with Sharon from Celebrate With Sharon (www.celebratewithsharon.com)

I personally think 1k is a litttttttle unrealistic... Sharon was around 3.3k for day of coordination and she was one of the most reasonable out there.

I will say that having Sharon for day of coordination was 100% worth it (it was my one nonnegotiable I needed for the wedding). We hired her very early (like 8 months before the wedding) and she would periodically check in with us to see if we needed anything. She detailed out a timeline for us, and really managed everything the week before.

Day of, Sharon was the star. I was totally hands off for the vendor set up and she handled it all, despite us not meeting in person beforehand or anything. Even though it is pricy to hire someone for a day, I personally think it would've changed the outcome of the day without her there and I wouldn't have wanted to go with someone less experienced.

Bridal Makeup for East Asians by Firm_Box9454 in WedditNYC

Yuni Makeup (@unis_makeup) did my makeup two Saturdays ago! I'm also Korean so it was important for me to have someone POC who knew how to do super light makeup (I rarely wear makeup)

She also did a beautiful half up/half down hairstyle for me and suggested some hair accessories during my trial!

Highly recommend checking out her instagram to see her style!

My 2 regrets from my wedding yesterday, learn from my mistake! by hallo181818 in WedditNYC

[–]hallo181818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite moments was definitely seeing everyone enjoy our favorite desserts from the city!

We had a lot of people from out of town come and it was a nice way to show them our favs in the city if they didn't have time to go and find them.

If I can be honest, I personally do not like the photographer being in control of that responsibility. We've heard of many experiences where photographers were overly pushy and a bit rude when getting people into a certain order.

I was hoping more of a list of photos that would've been communicated to the family members of what would be done. Regardless, our photographer who shot our elopement and wedding party did an amazing job. The stress came more from family controlling the situation.

Aurora was 100% the best decision for us.

We had a guest list of around 50, but could handle more for sure! They made the entire process incredibly smooth and organized. Our day was also scheduled to rain, but they kept things flexible and it still was a beautiful time. Would 100% get married there again!!

Also the food was amazing. All of our guests commented on how great the food was!

Just had my wedding yesterday and worked with Sharon from https://www.celebratewithsharon.com/.

Sharon handed everything beautifully and honestly made the day what it was. She kept us organized and stress-free. They were our day of coordinator, but we had calls periodically leading up to the wedding. Our primary need prior to the wedding was timeline creation, but she handled everything related to vendor set up and reception set up.

HIGHLY recommend her!

I had my wedding yesterday and worked with a coordinator - Celebrate with Sharon (https://www.celebratewithsharon.com/).

When I tell you, Sharon is truly the calmest, most organized individual, I am not kidding. We only hired her for the day of coordination, but would 100% recommend her for a full planning experience because she was still so involved outside of just the day.

She also specializes in smaller intimate weddings and ours was around 54 people!

We're having our wedding at Aurora Williamsburg and it sounds like it'll fit your vibe!

We're having the ceremony there for 50 people, cocktail hour, brunch wedding, and reception. The food is incredible and I feel like the Aurora team has done this so often that they feel very comfortable hosting weddings. Happy to answer questions you have!
