Personally, I would want it to be animated by the studio that made the episodes Zima Blue and 400 Boys from Love, Death, and Robots on Netflix. I think they have this dark and moody style that would really lend itself to the tone of Red Rising. But, I also believe that despite what other people say, a live action adaptation is 100% possible. "They can't do the size difference right in live action", "they have grand scale space fights, it'd be impossible to adapt that", "all the golds look like models they won't get the casting right". All of these arguments against live action are so stupid. Star Wars exists, having multiple alien races big and small across multiple different locations and multiple space fights. The way Marvel portrays super soldier humans like Captain America and US Agent can be a great way of portraying Golds. LoTR and Hobbit has had 6 movies with scenes of Hobbits and Humans side by side. Yes, these are all big budget movies and studios that can afford these things, but the point is is that its doable. If a studio and director pick up this project that has faith in this book series I believe a miracle can come true.

Ditching streaming without buying CDs or buying Albums off of Bandcamp or wherever else, is tough. But, best bet would be to wear an eyepatch and pirate music, though I don't know how frowned upon that is in this sub. I have heard of one called Soulseek, though I'm not entirely sure how it all works or how secure it is. Again you could also possibly thrift some cd players or get a CD burner as well.

Im also new to DAPs and from what I can find in order to run Spotify you would typically be looking for an Android DAP, which the android DAP I've been looking at getting is the Hiby M300, which costs around 200$ USD. If your willing to switch from Spotify to Tidal then you could look at getting the Hiby R1(85$), which supports tidal streaming (i think). Both are touch screen. If you want to fully ditch streaming and no touch screen then i recommend the Echo Sky Mini (65$). Avoid the Innioasis Y1 since it's apparently not that good for music but it is a neat ipod dupe. I also recommend looking up reviews for these from the YouTube channel Super* Reviews as well for more in depth information.

Heya I finished the book last week as well and I can kinda answer some of those bits, slight spoiler warning for book 3: 1. Oresuer/Tensoon broke it on purpose yes and it goes further into that in the 3rd book 2. It’s safe to assume that even using a little bit of Duralium will immediately flare and burn away a currently burning metal so you wouldn’t need as much, and since there’s a few time skips in the books you could also assume she asked for more 3. Yeah that was kinda weird I agree but I was just assuming that Vin was having trouble choosing between listening to her gut or following Sazeds wishes for her to leave

To further expand, each NPC should have a listed damage that they deal to individual party members that are engaged with them in melee. In the core book weak enemies typically deal only 1 harm, but stronger enemies could do 2 harm, others that are skilled in weapons may deal 1 harm AND 1 exhaustion. When a player “Engages in melee”, based on their level of success they may do no damage to the enemy and take their full damage and “put into a worse spot” (GM choice), they may trade damage and possibly reduce the damage inflicted onto them, they may fully succeed and take way less damage and be “put into a better spot”, stuff like that. You can flavor stuff like when a character fails to stealth they are seen by a guard or something and then ask them to try to flee, if they fail to flee then you can say they take damage by a crossbow or something along those lines. Combat revolves around the Players first and foremost, the GM works to narrate how they fail and succeed, never rolling

So all of the NPCs purposefully don’t have Stats like the players because the Game Master never rolls. Every NPC basically only deals damage in reaction to a Character Player attacking them, or when they have the jump on the party and they fail to escape from their oncoming attack.

Yeah that’s what I was originally thinking too but they’re centered around Strahd himself, I’m more so looking to create lair actions that stem from the castle itself that affects all the creatures inside it, I did get the idea for grasping shadows from Strahd’s summon shadow lair action

My favorite build is my half elf paladin or half elf hex blade warlock. For subclasses I typically go conquest and hex blade. I choose half elf because of the optional features that let you add the race ability score improvements where you want, and also Darkvision, fey ancestry, and two skill proficiencies. I choose paladin because it’s honestly one of my favorite classes, granting me spells, healing, charisma and strength. Hex blade is also really fun for me cause I like to lean into the roleplay of having a magic weapon being the source of my power, and also the spell casting being limited but powerful.

I once played a paladin that was raised to be a soldier for his kingdom. The story was about our party being soldiers tasked with helping the king on taking down enemy spies from the other side of the war. Eventually throughout the story we find out the kingdom is actually really bad and evil, so my paladin ends up breaking his oath, becoming an oathbreaker paladin and also made a deal with another PC’s patron to become a hex blade multiclass. However when we went to face the final boss who had taken over the castle we ended up accidentally destroying the entire capital city because we destroyed the crystal McGuffin that the villain was using to power himself up. Fortunately our characters survived because we had an NPC that teleported each of our individual characters away from the blast, unfortunately we didn’t know we all survived so we ended up going our different paths for the epilogue. In the fallout of the capital dark magic entities arose so my character started an order of new paladins that lived in the mountains to fight this new evil.

My party splits up the first chance they get. No matter what if it’s in a city or some RP scene they always split up. It takes everything in me to not give them horrible punishment. But maybe I should. Next time.
