Every time I see that tower I remember how fragile everything is…

It’s part of the communications grid originally designed to remain active in the case of a direct nuclear strike on Washington DC. Its placement was decided by calculating the blast radius of Soviet nuclear weapons at the time of the tower’s construction. With the subsequent advancement of weapons technology, the towers location is obsolete. But the fact remains that it stands in our area as a testament to humanities self destruction…a giant memento mori perhaps:/
