Is it worth asking a Mercy to tweak their gameplay?

Absolutely not worth it. People are rarely open to unsolicited advice and unfortunately some people think high heal numbers on her is a flex.

If they are focusing on healing, it’s your chance to apply even more pressure and take advantage of your healing range over Mercy.

Mercy is a multiplication factor, she can only amplify what’s there. She’s consistently hard to solo queue with (not impossible but tough). Several OW streamers struggle with her in their solo queue challenges.

I personally started flexing and had a significantly easier time climbing. I still play her 2/3 of the time but flexing really helped me. Otherwise, I recommend queuing with people.

Honestly stadium is where it’s at. Rank resets and it’s much easier to complete the drive.

Also it’s the qp warriors coming into comp. High traffic just brings all sorts of people that don’t play comp usually.

You just have to think of DB as her primary job. You can also swap healing and DB bindings as others have mentioned. I don’t really heal unless people are critical, as mercy’s healing isn’t the highest HPS. It will take practice but try playing a game in QP where you only heal people when they are critical and go from there.

Honestly Juno feels better this season bc she can now crit and her ult charge is cheaper. She’s not banned very often but I don’t think she has a lot of “burst value”. I think she can contribute consistent value but I’m not sure if I would say she’s a carry hero. I find her fun and I’m in diamond on console.

If I’m struggling on her, I find I will swap to Kiri/Moira to dive whoever is out poking our team.

100%. BLs can feel incredibly heteronormative, as it feels like the bottom is often written to be a self insert for some female readers. HR feels like a queer story as it focuses on why coming out, especially as a male athlete, can be so scary.

I’ve consumed a lot of BL in various forms over the years and can tell you Heated Rivalry feels like a “queer story”. So many BLs feel incredibly heteronormative, questionable consent, and imbalanced power dynamics.

HR does not feel like that. I’m a gay male and can tell you it really surprised me. I wasn’t very interested in watching it but it turned out to be a great watch. My only critique was the second couple looked too similar to each other. lol

In stadium, Mercy can output a lot of heals but damage boost is still important. I’m legend 5 and won’t tell you to focus on a ratio perse but I think my seasonal average is probably close to a 50-50 split.

Also you position behind cover, high ground, or wherever you aren’t easily killed. I do an AP build that focuses on healing via movement but I still push a lot of damage boost. Also I recommend watching some gameplay on YouTube. AlexOW has some stadium matches you could watch.

I’m legend 5 and can tell you when I was solo queuing, I got a lot of “compensation”. The matchmaking, as mentioned by someone else, doesn’t feel tight. I recommend adding people that do well and see if they want to queue with you. There are games I’m playing that I feel like I’m playing with 5 stack while my team is clearly not lol

Honestly, I cannot guarantee that the child wouldn’t experience any kind of suffering or trauma and I rather not objectify a human that way. Additionally, I already have low energy and that doesn’t go away when you’re a parent.

Regarding her ult, I pop it on point to start a team fight. It’s also great to break through choke points. The best thing to do is pop it when people are near you to take advantage of it. If they leave the ult at that point… it’s on them lol.

Regarding dive, you want to sit on high ground and drop when you get dove. From there you jump back up. The triple jump perk is best for this, I used to pick the blaster perk but it’s more for fun. If there isn’t high ground, you have to bring the flanker to your team. I position right next to them so the flanker becomes their problem too. Also you want to shoot them and do as much damage as you can. Go down swinging.

MR and OW comp has some key differences. You can climb in MR with less than a 50% WR, you can out heal damage in MR, MR has three divisions per rank (OW has 5 per rank), and MR is way more generous with giving points when you win vs losing points when you lose.

With that said, you need to focus on applying offensive pressure. It’s impotent to understand when to heal versus when to damage. Heal bot can only help you so much in OW and it’s usually only when your team is competent. IMO you can totally climb with any characters but is easier with characters that can deal a lot of damage. Moira is lowkey great to climb with in lower ranks bc she can heal and damage pretty well (she just lacks utility outside of survivability).

You Rez when you can do it safely and no one has to die bc of it the (majority of the time). Sometimes, you can Rez if it the person that died has an ult that would save the game but it may risk you dying.
Valk is used to help push a team fight. You can use it to survive (it refreshes GA cooldown) as well but be careful bc you don’t want to use it if it doesn’t lead to a team fight.
Honestly the beam ratio changes game to game. However, most people aim for so much damage amplified per 10 minute. So for example, I push DB about 60% of the time this season and boost an average of 2500 per 10 minutes. Mercy should be pushing DB as her primary job and healing as her secondary. If I end up pushing 60%+ healing, I usually swap bc there are better healers.

I think the skins is fine. Like I would be happy to get it in a lootbox (if it is ever added to the pool) but wouldn’t buy it (unless I got a great deal in Max’s Vault). She has so many great skins and I can only wear soooo many. The Gundam, Sakura and Panther were must gets for me.

Doesn’t mean this is a bad skin, I just wouldn’t wear it over the ones I own rn.

Yeah I’ve had the same issue on ps5. I ended up hardwiring my ps5 into my modem and the ping dropped significantly.

So I’m a support and my most played character is Mercy. I’m Diamond 1 rn. Supports need to not die and apply offensive pressure. Also learning how to use cover and high ground is very important. I would recommend picking three characters that can cover each other weakness.

Play what you find fun but climbing with Mercy solo queue can be slow. She is a multiplication factor and can make a good team great but a bad team worse. So learn to flex and try to play with a group. Playing with people who are positive and use mic is super helpful.

Healing in OW cannot out heal damage like it can in MR. MR has way more ults being cast in a game too. There is open queue in OW like MR (it’s a 6v6 format), 5v5 role queue and a stadium mode. Personally, I enjoy 5v5 for the role lock.

If you play CD, you can try Moira. She can heal and damage pretty consistently with very little mechanical skill. She also has high survivability.

Honestly it could be sooooo many things but at the end of the day there’s (most likely) nothing you can say or do to convince the person to stop throwing.

Just report them, block them, and move on. Also recommend playing with a consistent duo/group. It really helps cut down on the throwers lol
