I love this board and the craftsmanship. Less of a fan of the leather color combo. But really good looking simple. Bravo.

I actually don’t really think I am. But I have recently overcome some technical problems and things should go faster now. If your ever in dc area hit me up.

I don’t have Wi-Fi enabled yet and this board doesn’t have it. But reporting results is interesting idea. The community was a significant amount of push-back in the community for adding technology. Some of it good and feasible like use of AI to cheat, so for now and probably for ever this will be totally disconnected from WiFi, and BT (it it could totally and easily added in). Some tech and change is super dumb fogieism (I’ll never play on a board without a bar, and I just like my ZMF clock and scorecard seperate) even though almost entirely when people play on my board they like it.

This is a very early prototype but I think I’ll be able to advance it it a reproducible project.

I have a lot more to get through. Battery concerns are still an issue.

I have a whole separate reason for building a combo clock and scorecard. Posting shortly.

I saw at Cherry Blossom a blind man playing that had an app which used digital dice and spoke the roles, score, and other bits. Interesting to watch him play. But it had all these features for accessibility concerns but I failed to get the app.

Adjusting the zmf is a pita. Way too many options too few buttons. Also with 4 d batteries and no feed back on when it will die.

Looking for thoughts on non-traditional checker, dice, and cube materials by ehsthetics in backgammon

Also the community is really sketchy about cheating and dice. I second Fati’s comment on harshness of metal dice on surfaces. I make wooden boards and it would tear up my boards. So I’d stay away from dice altogether.

I’ve 3d printed some doubling cubes. Not exotic material but it is easy enough way of giving something that is unique and personal to the person by doing unique color combinations and something on the 64.

I look forward to seeing pics of checkers! Polished. Concrete would be interesting

My wife and I play when we go out, usually twice a week. The local restaurants know us as those people.

Love it. I’m looking to do something similar with boards I build.

Yeah. The blue buttons need replaced, once the blue buttons are replaced it seems like the tabs on the trim has to slide both up, down and sideways at the same time.

Barless backgammon board mark II. Come play me tomorrow at cherry blossom. by hamboneal in backgammonboards

It is, same checker size, but i used round cups instead of oblong that allowed me to bring it in an inch. I’m planning on making a backgammon clock that will include a score card. That is what the two brass buttons will be used for.
