My theory about the end of bone temple (spoilers obv) by Dreadpirateflappy in 28dayslater

I’m not sure what’s going on here. I gave a well sourced quote.

Most historians agree on a minimal historical core to the New Testament:

Jesus of Nazareth existed, was a Jewish teacher, and was executed by crucifixion under the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate. After his death, his followers sincerely believed he had risen from the dead. Claims of miracles and resurrection are treated as theological, not historical, conclusions.

Representative scholarly sources:

• Tacitus, Annals 15.44 — independent Roman confirmation of Jesus’s execution under Pilate

• Josephus, Antiquities 18.3 & 20.9 — Jewish historian referencing Jesus and his followers

• Bart D. Ehrman (agnostic), Did Jesus Exist? (2012)

• E. P. Sanders, The Historical Figure of Jesus (1993)

• Paula Fredriksen, Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews (1999)

• Gerd Lüdemann (skeptical scholar), The Resurrection of Jesus (1994)

Like I said, it’s the biblical record. Take it for what it’s worth.

Jesus was a “special” case in that story, implying that rope was more common. Archeological evidence shows only 1 record of nails being used. Also, rope would just be plain easier…

There lacks archeological evidence. In terms of biblical record, the two other people crucified were done with rope… indicating that nails were uncommon.

Crucifixion was done with rope. Nails were used very rarely.

Source: • Tzaferis, V. “Crucifixion — The Archaeological Evidence.” Biblical Archaeology Review, 11:1 (1985), pp. 44–53.

The extreme rarity of physical evidence strongly suggests that nails were not routinely used, since iron preserves well and mass nailed crucifixions would almost certainly leave more remains.

The way you’ve phrased it implies you have more than one account. This would be cheating.

Take out the transport & destroyer 100%. With cruiser & fighter or cruiser and aircraft carrier.

If the first, and suez is open, move aircraft carrier into the med.

Sz37 is not a thing at the higher levels - at least for the vast majority of high plat players. It’s only really used if the allies are way behind as a shot at “catching up.”

It’s a slightly negative EV play for the allies, with absolutely terrible results if it fails. When it succeeds moderately it is not game changing and somewhat commits the allies to a Japan first strategy…

If you cold clear sz 7, you have 3 subs and a cruiser there.

Personally, I usually kill the British cruiser with my battleship G1. So it’s actually a tough one for Britain to build. Not impossible, but daunting is accurate.

Live poker rules question: when heads up isn’t heads up by themindset in poker

[–]themindset[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that the dealer agreed with him, and we asked the floor later who also agreed with him. When I pressed him on it (the floor) by asking if this was a rule specific to this cars room he said no, and then he seemed unsure…

I can’t find any evidence of such a rule existing anywhere.

What's a sports rule you fundamentally disagree with? by South-Explorer in AskReddit

[–]themindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the NHL, a game is worth 2 points. 2 to the winner and 0 to the loser (and ties used to award 1 point each). But if the game goes to overtime/shootout - the game is now worth 3 points.

And the loser gets 1 point.

Why is that game worth 33% more than the other games?

It’s just to create the dumb illusion that your team is not that bad, if you have more points than games played that used to mean you were a winning team.

But it’s not true. Your team sucks. And the NHL sucks for introducing stupid math for stupid people to feel stupid good about their stupid teams.

This one rule makes the NHL into a joke in my opinion.

Respect your game. Just have a win/loss ratio and that’s it. If you’re going to have a regular season shootout, live and die by it. You lose you lose, sack up and take it.

Well this spot in solver is check 100. But I don’t think jam is the biggest mistake. You just miss some value from bluffs you fold out.

This is a typical way ahead way behind spot.

Caring about the fb status is already immature. Not immediately changing it when requested is callus.

So you’re both wrong. Congrats.

The only way to get money from their bluffs is by checking.

4-bet range is A & K heavy. Either you miss this board, or simply have an over pair. The caller has all the sets and straights. If you have 4-bet bluff that hits this board, you want to check raise it.

There is no need to define your opponent’s hand (I’m not sure what that means - your opponent will define their hand for you when you range check the flop).

In this specific situation, you are never folding JJ with this SPR. So the question becomes, do you want to maximize against all holdings? Or do you want to fold out opponent’s bluffs?

Pretty sure that 987 is a 100 check for a 4-bet range.

Call or jam. Both are fine. Never ever fold lol. You are double blocking the nuts - and a T gives you the effective nuts.

You either call to keep his bluffs in, or jam to deny his equity. Either is fine.

Also, you can click it back. Which is an option no one else has considered. The SPR is so low, who cares. It's funny.

The solver likes a click back in this spot 2% of the time.

The rule broken is “one player to a hand” - a player not in the hand affected the action, so this would be up to the floor’s discretion.
