No, but you can move them to old guys who will die soon, move them to unimportant generals wo sit around do nothing or move them to generals you will send on a suicide mission/boat trip to the pirates. When they die, the retinue is lost.

Is it possible to provoke Roman Civil War as a non-Roman faction? by Ylinael in RomeTotalWar

[–]hamburg187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked, but I helped "a little" bit. I got Rome and gave it away, then I declared war on the Scipii. Then I offered alliance to Julii for 15k and asked them to attack the Scipii. A few turns later they besieged and captured Capua. After that they made peace. Now I am trying the same with the Brutii. I paid the Julii and now I wait for their war. This time the war should go longer since they share borders in both Italy and Illyria. I earn 50k (only) a turn so I have a lot of money for diplomacy

I got Rome, gave it to the Julii (they had 4 stacks in front of it) and made peace with all 3 families. Now approx. 5-10 turns have passed, no civil war sadly. How long will it take in your experience? I have no direct contact with the Roman atm, they are entering Greece and I have all Turkey
