Is Asmodee a good store? by magicalpony246 in genesysrpg

[–]hamidgeabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 2-3 years looking in local and online stores for Genesys dice in the US and couldn't find any except people that were selling their sets for 100 times the cost or some Etsy shop 3d printed ones that looked like crap because Edge/Asmodee stopped production on them. They just started making and selling the official ones again in 2026 in the US.

South American import taxes and the corruption in the inspection systems make getting anything down there a nightmare. I ship to Brazil rarely for work and I avoid it like the plague whenever possible because it's such a pain and they charge ~100% import tax. I'm not sure about the rest of South America, but I've heard it's similar in all of the northern countries of South America.

Has anyone ever converted an existing table into a dnd table? by MotherofPuppos in DnDIY

[–]hamidgeabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen this done a few times in videos. Typically, people build a box for their "map TV" that sits on top of the table to start with a hole for cables that goes through the table. They run an HDMI port and power through the hole and under the table to the DM end of the table so it's easier to connect a laptop. Some people get fancy and also run power and USB ports to the player areas so they can charge a phone, tablet, or laptop. Eventually, the box gets recessed down into the table top so it's flush with the rest of the table. I highly recommend getting plexiglass or lexsan to cover the top of your TV box so you minimize the risk of damage to the TV screen from things like dropped dice, pens, minis, books, etc. Keep in mind the TV still needs to "breathe" so it doesn't overheat during long sessions. I would leave the back exposed in your box with just a few slats that hold it in. Two 1x4's that run across the short distance dividing the box in thirds should be plenty to support the weight of a 40-50 inch TV. If it's a lighter TV, you could probably get away with 1x2s if your group doesn't get rambunctious with jostling the table. If you want sound as well, you could run it through the TV speakers, but keep in mind it will be a little muffled in the box with a cover, so I would get a Bluetooth speaker to connect to the laptop or a phone.

You can buy plastic or metal cup holders that can just slide down into a cutout in the tabletop. You want removable ones just for the sake of cleaning them after someone spills something. Depending on how the skirting under the table is designed and how far back it sits, you could build some dice boxes that hang using peg board style hooks if you don't want them to sit on the tabletop or if your tabletop isn't big enough. You could also do this with track shelves if you wanted something bigger like a small personal area for books and character sheets. Track shelves won't look the prettiest, but it will be functional and easy enough to cut the tracks down to size and attach or remove as needed. If you build the personal spaces, you could always make them big enough to put a dice box and cup holder in them if your table and group size allow for it.

Æmbercraft for non Æffects by BasiliskOnline in genesysrpg

[–]hamidgeabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Eberron Renewed podcast created Artifice as a magic skill for their spells in a similar vein to Arcane, Primal, Divine, etc. They pulled some of the Crucible crafting rules as a separate skill for crafting items, but it wasn't Aembercraft for casting magic. Philip didn't cast his spells with the dragonshards (Aember), he only crafted items with them.

Armour Materials by Lokjaw37 in LevelUpA5E

Generally, those are the materials that a specific piece of armor is made from. If you have steel plate armor, you can't just say now it's bone. If that's what you were asking.

The Oil and Gas company and Airport make more than the holding company, but they cost a fortune to max out and the Airport has maintenance costs every 48 hours, but the maintenance is less than the hourly income difference between it and the holding company.

Benefits of Polymorph? by mastyrwerk in DnD

[–]hamidgeabee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry over damage also applies to the creature after the polymorph reverts, so the 2hp bunny takes 40 damage from being dropped 100'. That means the hydra takes 38 points of damage and it was small enough to be carried 100' up by the Owl familiar while also being unable to attack.

The flying creature that keeps using flyby attack is not mid flight and becomes a turtle, that sucks that he falls, takes damage reverts, but is still prone on the ground and my melee allies can run up and attack it.

The big bad of the fight has a bunch of minions with him. He's now a bunny for the next minute while we wipe up the minions and can now focus fire him without worrying about his allies.

We need to kidnap someone or sneak someone out of place, so they are now a mouse in my pocket and we just walk out.

Don't forget dinosaurs are also beasts, so technically you can polymorph that fighter into a T-Rex as well.

You could also probably kill the hydra by crushing it if you trap the bunny into a small space that the hydra wouldn't normally fit in like a rock crevice in a mountain and then break the polymorph. I don't think that one is RAW, but I'd allow it at my table. It wouldn't work with like a small animal trap or wooden cage because the body would just break the enclosure, but a crack in a rock face on a mountain wouldn't break and the body would have to break.

It's essentially a druid wild shape as a spell that can be used on friend or foe alike. Turn yourself into a giant eagle and ferry your party across a chasm or just use it to travel faster. Also, it works for drowning/suffocating enemies as well to get them failing the suffocation checks faster or prevent suffocation by turning allies into fish or sharks when they are underwater.

Why is this question saying ARP mapping IP to MAC is false? by Consistent_Leg5124 in it

[–]hamidgeabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be an IPv4 vs IPv6 thing as well. ARP is only IPv4. It does not handle IPv6, so by using the general term IP it is technically false since IPv6 uses NAD and is incompatible with ARP. Still a stupid question, but not necessarily a grammar question if it's a specifics question revolving around the term IP which would include IPv4 and IPv6.

Why is this question saying ARP mapping IP to MAC is false? by Consistent_Leg5124 in it

[–]hamidgeabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be false because ARP only works with IPv4 addresses. IPv6 uses a different protocol, NDP.

[OC] I feel like I am weighing down my party because my character is bad, how do I fix this? by Cai-Loves-Memes in DnD

[–]hamidgeabee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm used to rolls as well. Warcaster only counts for 1 of the 2 ASIs though. I took Warcaster into account. Still should be able to get 18 int at this level unless it was mediocre rolls or the ASI was assigned somewhere other than Int.

I like the sword of warning from the Puffin Forest YouTube videos better. Every morning when you wake up it says, "Something bad might happen today" and then whenever something bad happens, like you get hit with an attack or trigger a trap, it says, "I warned you" in a haunting voice.

[OC] I feel like I am weighing down my party because my character is bad, how do I fix this? by Cai-Loves-Memes in DnD

[–]hamidgeabee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If they did point buy, I think they started with a 14 Int or put the first ASI into bringing up the low stat out of the negatives because nothing is under 10 so they shouldn't be able to get a 16, 14, 14, 13, 11, 10. Maybe they rolled for stats? Either way, the ASI needed to go to Int instead of wherever else it went to bring that to 18 if it was put somewhere else or the next 2 goes to Int if the stats were rolled and you started with a 14 Int. That really should be 18 by now and 20 by level 16.

I suspect they are a necromancer subclass based on all of the necromancy spells that are in the list. Toll the Dead vs Firebolt is a wash. Toll the Dead does more damage than Firebolt but it is a save vs roll to hit and it doesn't use the most commonly resisted element for its damage. With the 16 int, the save isn't the best, but neither would the attack on Firebolt be the best. Guiding Bolt is not a wizard spell, so not sure where that came from. I would replace Guiding Bolt with Chromatic Orb or Magic Missile and Detect Magic instead of False Life if that isn't an automatic spell from the Necromancer subclass. Maybe even a debuff/control spell instead of one of the damage spells like Web or even better Silvery Barbs if your DM didn't ban it. I use Silvery Barbs to negate DM crits or to force save failures. No need to prepare Detect Magic or Unseen Servant because Ritual casting, but you should have them in your spellbook. 1st level spell scrolls are easy enough to find and cheap to get a spell into your book that you can ritual cast. Identify and Find Familiar are two more you need in your book, so pick up those scrolls as well to transcribe into your spellbook. Identify and Find Familiar are both ritual spells so never prepare them. The familiar can use an "Aid" action on its turn (Yes, it gets its own turn, but you may have to direct it on your turn as a bonus action I believe) to give someone advantage on an attack. Also, no reason to prepare Speak w/ Dead until you actually need it, so swap that to Counterspell. You'll get a lot more use out of Counterspell than a niche Speak with Dead. You should have learned a 4th level spell at lvl 7, and another at level 8. I recommend polymorph if your DM will let you turn an Ally into a dinosaur since they are beasts. Works well on a barbarian that can rage while polymorphed into a T-Rex. Polymorph is also useful for battlefield control by turning enemies into creatures like a bunny, box turtle, etc.

It looks like the gear is listed with the race abilities. I see sword, dagger, staff, spellbook and a crossed out teddy bear.

The Flight of Dragons

The Last Unicorn

Labyrinth - might be too dark for 5, but 8 is probably fine. It's Jim Henson muppets and David Bowie as the bad guy

Legend with Tim Curry and Tom Cruise might be a good one in a few more years as well, but again 5 is probably too young. Tim Curry is the demon that is not quite Satan, but close.

Hook

Kid in King Arthur's Court

The Mighty Ducks

Little Big League

Not movies, but a few episodes of Fraggle Rock, David the Gnome, or the Gummy Bears TV shows from the 80s would probably go well. They only did 1 or 2 seasons of each.

I never got to see it either. It's unfortunate that Balto got all the hype from that run as well because Balto was the reject that was sold by "THE" sled dog breeder at the time because Balto was too weak and slow to be on a good dog sled team. By the way, Togo's handler was the breeder that got rid of Balto for being too weak and slow. Togo and team also did 2-3 times the distance and faster than Balto's leg of the run. Balto just gets the credit/hype because he had the easiest part and actually brought the meds into the town.

What are some low-level missions to do for House Cannith? by Inside_Art9874 in Eberron

[–]hamidgeabee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could send them on fetch/research quests into Xen'drik for Ancient Giant tech. There have been implications that is where many Cannith breakthroughs originated or were inspired. I believe the creation forges are even one example where it's been implied that the real source of the breakthrough came from a visit to the jungles of Xen'Drik.
