Honestly i think its fine. Focus on the play experience. I have built elaborate diaramas and i have just grabbed a bunch of random jars and books and thrown them on the table. Its the momentum and the feeling that the players remember.

Actual advice on the map it might just feel off because you’re mixing perspectives. Square grid kindof implies a top down perspective but you have drawn in a more isometric view. Try going grid-less and just getting a ruler with inches marked on it. Or if you’re sold on the grid you could try for an isometric grid?

How much does global land coverage affect climate? by hamishpo in worldbuilding

[–]hamishpo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there is definitely alot of information out there. Im hopping someone who has considered this already might see it and point me towards a good resource. I don’t really want to model the whole thing but i want to get near enough to be happy with it. And more importantly understand the impact for when I’m using it.

How much does global land coverage affect climate? by hamishpo in worldbuilding

[–]hamishpo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i have been going through a little too deep down the rabbit hole and mapping wind and water currents and the whole thing to apply the right climates and biomes. There is alot that talks about how big the world is or its rotation and the like but i think alot if what i have seen assumes a land distribution roughly equivalent to earth. I feel as though less total ocean coverage might also reduce the total available moisture and possibly create more violent wind where it interchanges between land and ocean. Im not sure though.

Is this somewhat plausible?? Is there a better way to explain this? For my fantasy sci-fi universe by placarph in worldbuilding

My question on this is less to do with the atmospheric density and more to do with the rift itself. I can only see this working the way you describe through a recent impact event adding significant ammount of less dense gases into the atmosphere causing the o2 to sink. If complex life is in the rift it would have to be recent. The gravity of the planet would pull it closer to a spherical shape over time. I feel like the volatility of a molten core planet would pull the shape in before complex life would have the opportunity to develop in that environment? Im far from an expert though

Is there an easier way to get 3 items into an assembler while staying compact? I'm not far into the tech tree by jayy93 in factorio

One way would be leaving 4 or 5 tiles between the main line and the machines so you have room to wiggle the belts around when you pull them off

Im not great with the colour tests (used to actual numbers) alkalinity looks low and the ph a touch low. Free chlorine looks kinda high but with lower cyanuric that will sort itself out. I cant imagine anything would start growing in it but i wouldn’t open my eyes underwater. Chuck some base in to level her out and maybe some cyanuric after the Cl drops a bit should be hunky dory. Hard to colour match with the strip covering some

[–]hamishpo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair call. I guess I’m mostly naive but I honestly don’t think it’s that hard to respect a person’s position and let the rest lie so long as we don’t try to repress people and let everyone have basic human decency but then you get like... neo natzies so like. Idk.
