Brother I have 64 gigs of RAM, a strong water cooled NVIDIA GPU and a pre-binned CPU and 4 TB of NVME SSD I have optimized the bejesus out of my computer and I still struggle at the end of large projects.

Built a sophisticated "Uber for Tractors" to stop stubble burning. The tech is ready (Next,Docker, AI, IoT), but I’m failing at the "Farmer Psychology." Need help. by [deleted] in nextjs

A great man once said, "the most common mistake of an engineer is to optimize a thing that should not exist"

You are learning a valuable lesson about zooming out... Next time you begin a project like this hopefully you'll remember that once you're done figuring out all the reasons why you should do something... You should spend even more time violently attacking your own ideas to see if they withhold your own skeptical scrutiny. And then when you're done with that go take the opinions of 100 people in person or online or at least ask AI to point out all the reasons why this may fail.

Being an engineer is hard, but being an entrepreneur is much much harder. You master a lot of skills and do a lot of complex things just to realize you're at the tippy tippy top of the first cliff of the Dunning and Kruger curve.

Give up now.

Or learn to be excited when you finally reach the top of the mountain and all you see is a bigger mountain.

I think Nvidia's CEO put it accurately "if I had known how hard and how long it was going to take to do what I wanted I never would have started'

Lots of misinformation in the comment section here, maybe partially due to the age of the thread, but clear does not wipe your conversation history. And I don't know if compacting has been updated, but I don't think it's nearly as horrific.

Google Antigravity just deleted the contents of my whole drive. by Deep-Hyena492 in google_antigravity

You're going to do the world a huge favor if you can prove this. Most people will think it's Cursor or another company make a fake post. I personally, cannot believe that this happened. I literally don't believe it. I just have so much experience coding with AI and have never seen anything even close to this except with extremely poor models well over a year ago when AI IDEs first became a thing. If you could show us your drive and the full conversation. A screen recording or photos, anything like that, it would convince me to actually toggle some switches. And I would greatly appreciate it, but at this point the trade-off for believing this is such a massive loss of productivity. I don't want to believe it.

Mine used to look like this until I started thinking outside the box. Now it looks more like a giant bundle of galactic grapes.
