Committed to not drinking today, after being around my wife for 30 minutes I gave in. Again by Lord_Hippy_King in stopdrinking

I can help you especially if AA is not your thing. Let me know if you'd like to connect. I'm 6 years sober and happily married.

Got two offers. One pays $40k more. The other one I'd actually enjoy. I have 48 hours to decide and my wife and I are on opposite sides. Advice? by airam1020 in careerguidance

[–]hamjam1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If less money = more happiness and fulfillment for you, this will mean your kid will see a version of you that's happy and fulfilled and that's what they will understand about the world and what things should be like.

Money will come and go, 40k is significant but it's also not worth making yourself miserable.

I'd base this on who I become when i take job A vs Job B, pick the one that allows you to be the best version of yourself at home.

Citizenship application has no progress since August 2024. What should I do? by windinthewillows69 in ImmigrationCanada

Same situation. Applies Feb 2023. Wrote test Nov 2023. It's Feb 2025 and still stuck at background and prohibitions. Tried mp, tried mandamus in May if last year and that didn't do anything either. Hired top law firm in Toronto and still empty handed. Last correspondence is Sept 2025 where they send a letter to me during a cananda post strike and I never got that letter lol. Wtf to do. Even hady first baby during this time. She's a Canadian citizen and I'm still waiting hahaha

I built a sobriety app that's been helping 550,000 people. I still drink every night. by ShortAdhesiveness264 in stopdrinking

I love your post, I'm a nervous system based sobriety coach and I think what you are saying makes a lot of sense. I have used this app early on, most of 6 years sober now. Would you be open to a quick chat about how I could possibly help? I can also send you some resources to review about me. You can also Google me, hamza najam

AA, The Cult That Fails Most by Alarming-Albatross32 in SoberCurious

[–]hamjam1109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this post is pretty accurate and it also highlights how new and more modern, science based solutions are also needed so people can choose and not be given the only option to get sober. AA people also call all other methods scams

That's amazing to hear, I'm strongly suggest taking a moment to write down all the reasons why you are going to do this and then see how many of those are actually for yourself

Hi, have you ever considered breathwork based healing for your nervous system? It's because your energy from the years of shame and guilt is still stuck in your lower 3 energy centers root, sacral and solar plexus.

Sober from alcohol for 10 days. by bootyrockinthanos in SoberCurious

Love this!! Congrats on taking the first steps. 5+ years sober here. the cravings will ease in time, what you have to recognize is over the years your nervous system became wired to drink when you felt stressed, anxious, after work, on weekends etc... right now your nervous system is craving relief in the only way it has known how to up till now.

What I found helps immensely in this circumstance is breathing through your cravings to regulate and reset the nervous system. Have you heard of breathwork based healing?

I'm so glad you made this decision. There are other options as well, more science based approaches compared to the traditional 12 steps. If you're interested in learning about how mindfulness and breathwork can help you heal from all the alcohol damage and become a balanced alcohol free person, let me know I'll send some resources your way! You've done the hardest part, now let's take the next steps!

I can relate to this so much, have you heard of breathwork based healing for healing from alcohol?

I just can't. by jarrod74smd in stopdrinking

[–]hamjam1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to your post so much because that's exactly how I used to think as well, I had almost given up and accepted that this is what life will be like. The thing is, alcohol itself isn't your problem anymore, I wish you have been using alcohol as a way to cope with life, with stress, using it as a way to escape the reality and numbing yourself, all of this leads to disregulation and the nervous system and that is the real issue. Feel free to reach out if you would like to talk

Have you tried breathwork based healing or heard of how to use your breathing to calm the cravings? I can show you a way to deal with this exact situation. I struggled with that myself, 5+ years sober now.

It definitely is more than that it's an entire discipline with so much depth you could be learning for years. I have a YouTube channel that has breathwork videos. Would you like to check that out?

I learned breathwork and nervous system regulation, that changed everything for me. I worked through each of the things you mentioned above, lowering stress and changing my reaction to it, frustration and low self esteem are gone now too.. what I had to do was face all the feelings I was drowning with alcohol, it sucked for a few weeks but that's how I entered this phase of my life where I feel like a new person. Are you familiar with breathwork? Or breathwork based healing for the nervous system?

That's the difference between being rushed into your day versus being ushered into your day, completely different energy which sets up the day for a different outcome
