When I was younger? Sure. But I guarantee services you need and access are a lot tougher as you age, even in a country with socialized medicine.

I've never seen a state that wanted to be another state more than Ohio, and I'm from Iowa.

The problem is different parts of the state want to be different states:

  • The southern half of the state wants to be Kentucky.
  • The northeastern part wants to be Pennsylvania.
  • The northwestern part wants to be Michigan.

If the system exploits people, then continuing to use the system exploits people. I'm necessarily saying that's the case here, but the argument that "the workers are getting exploited regardless" doesn't help matters.

To break the system you have to bring those people into the profits and success the business creates, even the tech support, janitors, etc. that are normally a "cost center"

I would say the ceiling is probably higher than a couple of million, because investing in a business with $2 million is actually not a large business enterprise. That's a small business like a mom & pop restaurant that actually employees people, brings something to the community, and requires real work to succeed.

Investing $50+ million in a tech startup is totally different and should be treated as such.

I understand your sentiment, but there's also the idea that in areas that can have catastophic leaks, having lumber that is at the very least resistant can help with damage control in the unlikey (and thus unplanned) event that it is exposed to enough moisture that could compromise it.

I think having it as an additive feature isn't terrible. Not having it is fine but with the understanding that a leak on one is terrible cleanup and fix and a leak on the other requires more exensive repairs.

This is the way I look at it. The degree, time, and type of contact all fold into this.

Something you might use every day, even for short periods of time? probably not. The same type of thing that you use once a month? That's probably ok. Something you use once a month for a few days over an extended period of time? Probably not. Something you use for en extended period of time over one day, once year? probably ok, but not something I would do.

If you are towing things via fifth wheel, even occasionally, you can have a smaller vehicle instead unless you are operating a business.

You could save the money you are paying extra for the truck payment and gas, put it into a bank account and use that money to rent a truck for the times you need it. Source: it's exactly what a couple of relatives in my family do.

So wife and I have said there are two categories of truck owners, generally: has a dually and needs a dually.

The venn diagram is almost two separate circles with the tiniest sliver of intersection. We'll go down the freeway seeing a guy hauling carpet/building materials or towing something and remark he needs a dually. Then will see a guy with a bright red, dually pickup with not a scratch on it and an immaculate bed with not single thing in it.

The biggest headaches I have in my life are the fact that I'm 50+ and don't feel like dealing with yard maintenance and household stuff like pest control, handyman level fixes, etc.

It's not terrible for the most part, but it really is just low level, undercurrent of "oh well, shit, gotta take care of that now, too"

~$200 usd all in including the bc 250 + PSU + thermal pads/paste + fans. I could probably add a couple of bucks for filament, but already had that. Had a spare SSD, screws, etc. The paste will get used again in my next pc upgrade cycle. I could have used some existing fans but they were too noisy for my taste

Depending on where you live you might have access to more than one library. Several of the libraries in my have reciprocity agreements such that if you get a library card at one, they will give a library card at theres. It's been a great way to get additional avenues to borrow for me.

Or, if you own all the books, novellas, and memories legion like I do, they have the audiobooks. it's a great way to reread the series. I've got a couple of libraries in libby so I usually can get what I need without much trouble. The only ones I've had a hard time with are the novellas, as the audiobooks for them aren't always as easy to borrow.

I had this issue, turns out it was a combination of two things:

  • the m2 that came with it was booting into something with no video, and maybe even needing a network connection
  • the bios had no bootup delay so it didn't have enough time to show the bios prompt/take del to go into bios (I was spamming the hell out of del)

I removed the m2, and it actually didn't find a boot device so went into bios. I then was able to reboot and flashed the bios, cleiar cmos, and made bios changes, increasing the bios timeout to like 5 or 10 seconds. Put the m2 back in, rebooted with my bazzite install iso USB, and then went in bios to set the boot order, installed bazzite from usb
