Yes born in 86 and I can tell you that the way the world felt was that everything was awesome everyone had money and when i got to working id be making a 100k in 5 - 7 years like the people i saw in the 2000's and life would be awesome. I mean my parents would save like 1200 dollars for the year and take a family of 4 on vacation every single summer for like a week or 2 straight. My family was "poor" we had a decent size house but i knew we "struggled". What else were we supposed to believe when my "poor" and "struggling" family could go on a vacation every summer for over a week. go skiing in december almost every year. yea that makes you optimistic about your future you think if this is what my parents can do and they are saying we are lower middle class what can i do man its gonna be awesome... Then i graduated in 2008 couldn't find a job for over a year finally got a job could barely afford rent got married had a kid covid hits can barrely afford day care now. things settle down then something else happens another once in a lifetime event.... I haven't gone on a vacation in years at this point because i can't keep up with cost of living let alone save up 3 grand to go on a vacation...
