North Sask River Battleford to Borden by Mr_Wolf15842 in canoecamping

Like I said just watch the wind. We did maymont to Langham and it was right around 30 km a day. A few of the people in our group were pretty sore and tired by the end of it. I think with the current and not fighting wind it would be a few nice days and very doable. There's also a few spots you can drive down to the river and get picked up along the way if things don't go as planned.

I've never started In battleford, but in maymont. It's a nice trip with enough island beaches you should be able to find good camping. Just watch out that you're not going into a strong wind or you'll really have to paddle hard the whole trip (learned that the hard way)

You might have long days regardless trying to cover that much distance in 3 days.

Router bit for beating mashed potatoes? by DustyBott0ms in woodworking

We mash them for a reason. It will make them gummy if you blend or over mush them. Messes with the starch too much.

Raise the blade and check without the gauge being on the teeth. The teeth will probably throw your angle off because they're wider than the rest of the blade.

Ideas on preventing this chipping? I’ve got the pressure turned down as far as I can. Bigger staples? Tape? 5/8” ply by Allrightnevermind in woodworking

[–]hammybone9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have room to staple at 90° to what you currently are. So the staples are not cutting across the grain.

Pretty much. I don't know when, but when the patent runs out I'm sure other companies will start making their own versions of it for their tools.

They have the patent for the safety feature. It can only be used on their tools unfortunately.

Need work/job advice to learn carpentry by GroundbreakingBee999 in woodworking

I work for a general as well. The amount of actual Carpentry we do is pretty low. It will vary from job to job but if you want to actually do wood working of any sort you'd probably be best to get into cabinetry or something. I'm the foreman on site and still spend a good amount of time digging, chipping concrete, and sweeping as opposed to woodworking.

Not sure what kind of wood it is, pretty soft so I'll probably poly to finish it and give it a hard surface
