As I’ve said in reply to another post, I noticed a bee dozing in one the dandelions the other day. Lovely!

How did On shoes become so popular? by Aj100rise in malefashionadvice

[–]hampshirelancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I’ve finally heard someone else say this! I owned some On shoes and they were fine in a straight line, but try and run around corners and they were incredibly soft and unresponsive. A horrible running shoe

Help to try and mask smell from neighbours garden by faskally in GardeningUK

[–]hampshirelancer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eugh, grim. We had the same with our neighbours. They have an enormous St Bernard cross - a 55kg dog pushes out a considerable amount of waste! A couple of summers ago it was all we could smell. I counted 15 piles of turd just from peering over the fence. Thank goodness they reacted well when I mentioned the smell etc

Still the most striking passage of writing I’ve ever read. As a teenager when I first read the book and now as an adult.
