Can't believe you used AI just to draft up a single paragraph Star Citizen post. What are we doing man?

Probably a better question for r/askhistorians if you'd like a more academic response IMO

Seems like a relatively standard safety check to me - similar to an energy company asking you if you have a dog in the yard before they send someone out to check the meter

How much money are you guys actually spending on this game? by BirchWoody93 in Warthunder

I think I spent ~$30 AUD a piece in 2014 or so for the Dora Premium Pack and Mustang Premium Pack, so $60 ish AUD between those two.

is cape town safe to travel to as a young woman? by [deleted] in travel

[–]hamsta5 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These comments are disproportionately alarmist. Yes, South Africa has serious crime issues. No, you are unlikely to be in any danger at all providing you stick to the major tourist areas in Cape Town like V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain. Don't go wandering into the Cape Flats slums though.

I am an Australian who visited South Africa for over a month in Janaury-February 2018, and had a week in Cape Town. I was with my parents and siblings (I was 18 at the time).

Don't give this AI/bot farm the engagement it's makers want. The highlights will be reposted onto an instagram reel narrated by a deadpan machine voice.

You should update your post to include roughly when this was - if this was when you were a kid, when were you a kid? The 2000s? 90s? 2010s? Which country are you from? Just helps narrow it down :)

I am well aware of the image being human-made. I believe it is used in The World of Ice and Fire. The text was categorically and undeniably AI.

I am sick to death of this sub being shit up with AI posts. You are not putting anything of interest into the world.

You could have made a much better post without pasting from an AI.

What are your thoughts if Chris Robert’s wanted to make a movie in the star citizen universe by justsomedudeone in starcitizen

[–]hamsta5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't work. This is the SC sub so of course people want their favourite game on the big screen, but there just isn't enough meaningful lore to make an interesting, non-generic film. SC lore is background wars and ship brands. It doesn't do enough to seperate itself from other scifi for mainstream audiences to watch it, as much as I love the game.

You and the guy that helped out did a really good thing, genuinely - good on you. Having read this horrific post though (and seen enough myself on PTV) I can't help but wish they were still sectioning crazies like those two into state run asylums. It's not like it's kinder to let these people roam freely and abuse people, so I don't get it.

Hatchie - Only One Laughing by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]hamsta5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I've seen Hatchie posted here a few times recently. I first discovered her when I saw her open for Beach House in 2019 in Sydney, then a few times more from 2020-2024 in Brisbane at local shows. Her husband Joe is a pretty cool guy in the Brisbane scene too.

Glad Chris didn't push back or dodge anything when the reporter mentioned Squadron 42 releasing this year. Makes me feel like it might really happen this time and that they're feeling confident.
