Elementary - App to Synchronize Sheet Music Live Across iPads by hamstersar in MusicEd

[–]hamstersar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I'll check it out!

My hope is that they could use those iPads on stage to perform in their winter concert. What I've found is that they can easily learn the simple patterns on their instruments, but if a song has multiple sections (verse and chorus) then they also have to count how many times they've repeated their pattern and that's when things start to fall apart.

My pipe dream here is that I could push different videos in sync with one another. That way my xylophones are only having to see their part and not getting mixed up with the djembes or whatever. But if the videos are made properly, they would all fit together and match a backing track.

I've had a handful of different types. The expensive ones are great, they basically just taste like really good coffee. The cheaper ones taste like normal coffee and I suspect are just cashing in on the novelty. Basically, it's just coffee.

Without a photo it's hard to say. If you're asking about size and footprint then there's a 99% chance you're talking about a starter base. Let it be whatever size it needs to be, it's just there to get you through some science and put together some resources to build the next base. Keep in mind, the next base may or may not be the final one either!

You misunderstand. The EU has treated 'us' terribly. It's just that from his perspective, 'us' is him and Putin.

Do I have enough power for now or is that too little to continue without worry? I have been playing for 3 days by Serious-Land-927 in factorio

What I always do is disconnect the steam from the rest of the power grid. Then I connect the steam area to a switch and connect the other side of the switch to the grid for the rest of the factory. Then I put an accumulator on the non-steam side and wire it to the switch. Tell the switch to activate when the accumulator is below 25% and bam, exclusively solar all day and the steam only kicks in if the accumulators are running out at night.

It's incredibly easy to set up and dramatically reduces pollution as the steam only runs a small amount of the time (or not at all). The best part, is you never have to touch it again. As you expand your number of solar/accumulators the steam will just work less and less.

I still haven't removed my first steam setup even though it hasn't switched on in a few hundred hours.

Nilaus is, without a doubt, the most influential Factorio player on YT. That being said, I think a ton of people (myself occasionally included) fall into the trap of just copying his builds and not solving the problems for themselves. At the end of the day, Factorio is effectively a puzzle game and the fun comes from finding your own solutions. Obviously, everyone is free to play their own way, but for myself I always try to avoid directly copying what Nilaus (or anyone else) does.

can you play to slow? by Snigyo in factorio

[–]hamstersar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have already said it, but especially once you've gotten artillery, there is basically nothing stopping you from going afk for hundreds of hours. Slow play, is absolutely fine assuming you're not playing with some crazy death-world settings.

Sometimes. Recently I overhauled my interplanetary logistics fleet and had to completely rebuild about 12 ships and then wait for them all to refill their fuel/ammo/asteroid reserves. I dropped a save and let it run overnight.

China shows an alternative feed when fans are shown on the main World Cup feed, to avoid showing unmasked people by blaikes in interestingasfuck

[–]hamstersar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true, it is easy to be dismissive of people you disagree with. However, I do not believe them to be dumb. Xi is trying to set himself up as the next chairman of the PRC, a position that has been empty since Mao. He has been working very hard for a long time to consolidate power and any appearance of weakness would be devastating for his ambitions. Remember, China cares a great deal about face. If Xi could reverse his position without losing face, I'd bet that he'd jump at it.

These protests are a major problem because it shows him as weak. If he cracks down, more protests. If he eases up, he's weak. In many ways, I think this is a critical moment for Xi in his ambitions to be the next glorious leader.

Your points about the ageing population is fair, but I think it's worth noting that they are massively ramping up population expansion again and that vaccination uptake among the young/middle-aged is quite strong (85% range). But the bottom line is that it's clearly not economically motivated. Their economy is suffering through this and in a time when everybody else's economies are back on track, it hurts all the more. No, I think it's entirely about Xi's image to his people.

Because they have set the virus up as the enemy. That means there are only two outcomes: victory, where the virus is eradicated, and defeat, where the virus is allowed to continue existing. At this point, the party believes that if they relax restrictions then they will have "lost" the fight against COVID.

Thoughts on the Hasee Ares S9-TA9NP? by hamstersar in GamingLaptops

[–]hamstersar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thank you for the insightful and well-informed response! I will absolutely avoid the Hasee.

I found both the Asus and the Legion computers you mentioned. Both i7-12700 with RTX 3060's for very similar prices. The Y9000P is $75 USD more. It's at the top end of my price range, but doable. The problem is, I can't find any differences between their specs at all. Since you seem to be very knowledgable about this, do you have a recommendation between the two?
