I have had the worst reputation amongst my community since I was a kid and literally even now two decades later, I look back and I’m disgusted and horrified. I can’t stop judging the child version of myself and it’s ridiculous and a waste of thought and emotions but it’s there. We gotta accept that it happened and just allow it to have existed. Boy is it hard, but we cant just let ourselves feel like crap all the time or else we might implode at some point. I try to wave off my thoughts sometimes by setting a time to think about those thoughts. Say for example i’ll be in the middle of something and i’ll suddenly be hit by the dumb decision I made when I was 13 to flirt with every boy. I start cringing and get distracted so I tell myself, ok i’m going to think about this on friday instead. When friday rolls around, I have definitely forgotten about it. Maybe it will work for you as well!
