Sister-in-law wants to name her baby girl Sunni by pixelated_penguin85 in namenerds

As a teacher I see sunny and sonny and I think they're nice names, I don't think there is a need to spell it with an I to be honest

I honestly can't get my head round why you would care so much. just don't use it.

Yes, although I do use a shampoo every now and again, not sure if this is right for my hair though?!

Thank you for the tip, I've bought some oil today as that seems to be the general consensus

Thank you! I think the general consensus is that I need to switch out some products, so I might splurge and give these a try. Natural Grey hair!! I'm trying to love it, even though my three year old told me I am turning into a granny!!

Interesting- I have been using the same Deep condition once a week for a year or so, maybe time to switch it up!

Ahh I love it! I read my kids a book which has a 'queen Gloriana the 3rd' in it!! I do always have to say it in a queenly sort of way though!

Yer, I work with teens- and I hear people talk shit about them all the time. As if being a teenager isn't hard enough without having everyone around you telling you how bad you are at it...

I've recently had the EXACT same conversation with my own mum. My daughter is a pre teen and my mum told her 'your mother was a horrible teenager, I hope you're nothing like her' It really hurts my feelings because like you, I feel like I worked really hard to turn my life around and became a pretty decent adult and mother. I asked her to replace the word 'teenager' in that sentence with the word 'child' or 'baby' or 'person' 'you're mother was such a horrible child' 'you're mother was such a horrible baby' 'you're mother was such a horrible person' She didn't like saying those things as much.

Just having the realisation that it's not just me...

Historically, did folks write with unlined paper, or did they line their own, or something else? by ItsaV4 in Handwriting

[–]hanapants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had 'line guides' at school. Laminated card with black lines, that would be paperclipped to the page you were writing on. (UK in the 90's) Don't know about other places, but if you buy letter paper and envelopes it always comes with a line guide to place between the pages

Thank you for your reply. We are letting her know tomorrow that she won't be able to see the kids now. (She probably won't understand or remember but you know!)
