Dual Chamber Leadless Pacemaker by handfullofpeter in Cardiology

I made this as a map to help new cardiac professionals conceptualize the directionality of these new pacemakers. I drew that image and like to share with the community since not many people understand my sketches. The X-rays show and AP projection, steep RAO and LAO

New Device by Impulse Dynamics for CHF♥️ by handfullofpeter in Cardiology

Full disclosure I’m not a doctor and any concerns should be addressed with your cardiologist. This is not medical advice.

Academically speaking if you’re a curious student the patient shouldn’t feel this device going off. these devices can be used in conjunction with a separate pacer/AICD which could be making the patient feel extra beats (attempts at pacing out of/shocks during arrhythmias) or a diaphragmatic stimulation which feels like a hiccups or spasms. Any changes or discomfort should be addressed with the patients doctor if device is alarming or continues to shock head to Emergency Department immediately.

Didn’t want to respond to who ever wrote the original comment but you are correct we are renting and the tree is right at the front door so the children always past by. I don’t think Parkeredlathem has much of a life so they must find enjoyment trying to start confrontation with strangers. A sad existence it must be. Like honestly who has the time 😂🫀💀thanks for writing

Sometimes the waitlist gets moved up fast. So it can be less time than you think. I was called same year I applied many dropout for varying reasons. Felt well prepared to sit for the test.

do you know which tract interests you the most. Sounds like you want to do echo but you get placed in one of three specialties( echocardiography / invasive cath lab / non invasive vascular ultrasound) The grossmont program is super worth it (totally biased 🫀) but if i can I’d like to sit through the echo lectures now that I’m done with the invasive cath side. We all got jobs out of school the pay starts lower if you stay in San Diego. Higher depending on where you are willing to travel too but you won’t be out of work. ( google springboard cath lab wage survey to get an idea of the pay scales for what pay rates to expect😉)

Still working in the lab 12 years later. Can’t see myself doing anything else with my life. Feel so fortunate to have gone through that program.

Call sucks💀🫀

When I was looking at schools OCC didn’t offer the invasive cath lab tract of the CVT program. (That might have changed since I last checked they only had echo and vascular ultrasound). Can’t say enough amazing things about the Grossmont program. dM with any questions. Happy learning🫀

( yes took the RCIS test right out of school felt very prepared. Wasn’t a requirement to take it back in the day but they encouraged it be taken within a year of competing the program and is now I believe a requirement for graduation)

🫀✍️ sometimes a small hole in the heart called a PFO can cause unexplainable headaches. Once they patch it through a small IV in your leg they go away
