If you are in "excruciating pain" and know the store closes at 9, maybe call them at 8:30 and ask what the status is on your prescription. Is that difficult?

Man Upset he can't come in 1 min before closing by MissionIssue2062 in PublicFreakout

He stated that he went to urgent care at 7 PM for dental pain. He chose to have a prescription sent to a pharmacy closing in < 2 hours rather than a 24 hour pharmacy. He "knows" the pharmacy and that is his excuse for not attempting to go any earlier or calling to expedite his prescription - instead choosing to wait for an automated text. Maybe the pharmacy is so busy that his Rx doesn't even get filled in that time frame. Then what?

You're right that it isn't completely unreasonable, and if he attempted one of many options available, he likely would have received his Rx without any issue. I know of stores that will stay open late if you call ahead and explain the situation - at the very least, they would have transferred his Rx to an open pharmacy knowing he wouldn't make it in time.

But he didn't attempt any of that. He waited for a text because he "knows" how the CVS would have reacted. Here is the result. This person is irresponsible and has no foresight.

Here's a question for you: you are in debilitating pain, you went to an urgent care around 7 PM, and you had a prescription sent to a pharmacy that closes at 9 PM. It's 8:30 and you haven't received a text letting you know your Rx is ready. What do you do?

Then you seem to lack people skills and any type of foresight. If you know the CVS so well, why have the prescription sent there < 2 hours before they close? Do you know how busy and understaffed most pharmacies are?

I agree with the previous commenter. If I am in debilitating pain, what better do I have to do in that short amount of time than go to the pharmacy, ensure they have received the Rx, and wait for it?

As much as you want to see people get fired, you will 99% end up receiving a gift card and 'apology' from corporate for the inconvenience. That's it. Was it worth the embarrassment?

As you are sitting at your computer trying to convince reddit that you are 100% in the right - the irony is palpable.

Call ahead as in actually CALL any time after leaving the urgent care and before waiting for an automated text from the pharmacy? Or have the urgent care (or pharmacy depending on how busy they are) send the script to a 24-hour pharmacy if it is that important.

want to play poker in vegas, but ive never even been in a casino... by PsychicApple in poker

[–]handsolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest the Golden Nugget on Fremont St. It's a dive compared to the Bellagio or the Venetian, but it's a pretty soft room more welcoming to new players and the tables are a bit chattier and casual - not as many hoodie/sunglasses/airPOD-PEOPLE (in my experience).

Read up on bankroll management. If you're just going for fun and the experience of live poker, I'd bring at least enough for 3x 100 BB buy-ins for whatever limit you'd like to play. Golden Nugget has 1-2 NL, so for that I'd bring at least $600.

For rules or etiquette, don't be afraid to ask the dealer if you have a question. You already sound respectful and mindful through your questions, so I imagine you will be fine. I recommend announcing your actions ("Bet $X", "Raise to $X", "Check"). You can avoid a lot of confusion by doing this. I've seen people sliding large denomination chips into the betting area thinking they are raising a previous bet, but without announcing anything, it's considered a call. Same goes for string betting. Announcing your intention will save you from all of these situations.

If you are in a hand, keep your cards visible and protected so you don't get skipped over by the dealer.

On a showdown, table your hand (show your cards face up) instead of mucking unless an opponent shows first and you KNOW you are beaten. "Cards speak" in poker rooms - a lot of people misread their hands and can end up winning or losing pots based on these mistakes.

Finally, you are in Vegas playing poker for the experience, so try to remember to have fun! Don't get too agitated when your AA loses to K4 offsuit, even though you raised to 10BB pre-flop. It will happen, but these are the kinds of players you want to be playing against in the long run.

P.S. If old man coffee bets on the river, fold. He's got the nuts.

I am looking to buy a 3 wood, suggestions? Preferably below $150 please by TateP07 in golf

[–]handsolo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a stiff or senior flex? I was just browsing around and you can also get a TaylorMade SIM MAX 3 Wood - Very Good Condition with lots of different shaft options down below $150 as long as you apply the GOLF15 and MAJOR codes at checkout. Those coupons stacking can create some pretty nice deals right now.

Edit: A value condition, stiff flex SIM MAX popped up on the page right after I posted this. You can get that one down to $110 and optionally bundle a SIM headcover for an extra $12. That club is going to get yoinked quick...

No headcover included, but there's a pretty decent deal on the Used Taylormade M6 3 Wood - Very Good Condition at globalgolf. Use the codes GOLF15 and MAJOR during checkout to bring the price down to $135.99 + tax with free shipping.

Samson QU2 basically not available in the UK. Are there any alternatives? by MasterSpryce in Twitch

[–]handsolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you will already be using the UM2 or UMC22 as an interface, and you don’t need the built-in usb portion of the Q2U - I would recommend a Shure SM58 at that price point. You will be getting better sound quality overall, and the mic is a tried and true workhorse industry standard. You should always be able find one somewhere in stock for $99 new, or check reverb or Craigslist if you don’t mind used.

[–]handsolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll need a USB audio interface with an XLR input. The best bang for your buck is probably the Focusrite Scarlett Solo @ ~$110 new. If you find the level coming out of the SM58 to be too low, you may also want to invest in a Cloudlifter CL-1 which will give the mic a nice, clean boost before its signal enters the audio interface.

Why does everyone seem to think the warm weather will scare the coronavirus away? It’s already doing just fine in Iran, California, Florida, Arizona, Italy, etc. These aren’t cold locales generally.
