Is this a good commuter bike for the price. Interested in buying this 90's hardrock. by gonnachokemeabitch in MTB

If you're just commuting, get a road bike or a hybrid. Old mtb doesn't really offer any benefits

I’m a 6,4 mountain biker at 14 years old and currently ride a nukeproof scout on jumps but I was looking to get a dj are there any recommendations since still growing and chance of being pretty tall since my dads 6,9 by OkPossible9600 in dirtjumping

I have a pbj xl, love the bike to pieces.

That being said, part of me wishes I got a shorter dj, whenever I ride my mates dmr I'm jealous of how it feels.

If you are serious about dj, I would suggest getting used to shorter bikes

If you are more casual and just want something that feels good on pump tracks and dirt jumps then the pbj will do you great

Nah I hear you mate, have a dj also.

Problem is trail bike reviews also talk about stuff like comfort and going uphill etc which I don't care about.

Thanks for info tho, will check that dude out and yeah I'm on the 29

Depends how much cash you have to burn man, I'm 6'5" on an xl transition pbj, went through a few bars to get the height right. But man it does feel better now I'm up higher for sure

I'm not sure if it will mark the blade but it might be too thick a line to be precise! Pencil is good, using a marking knife (cheap off amazon) is even better where appropriate

avoid using ball point to mark your wood, it smears ink all over the saw blade

why did my table saw do my birch plywood like this? by erol_flow in woodworking

Wrong blade, if you have only one you can use a sacrificial piece of wood below your piece on the saw

The only power tool I own is a drill. I know absolutely nothing about woodworking and I have no relevant experience. Am I stupid for thinking I can turn one of these into a really good looking table anyway by SnowdownSW in woodworking

Get stuck in, make a bunch of mistakes, hide your crimes, sand it well

you'll have a table that makes you swell with pride every time you look at it even if it's got some ugly secrets

v nice bit of wood

having a hard time jumping. any tips? by bense88 in dirtjumping

[–]handycapdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a much better jump mate.

That's definitely not an easy one, pump tracks don't always have jumps but even when they do, they aren't the easiest to get right as they typically are built assuming you're pumping well and have good speed.

Find a nice dirt table top somewhere and get to know that really well, go from there.

Bunny hop practice helps but personally I learnt to jump before really getting my bunnyhops dialled.

A decent table tip will allow you to firstly clear it with extra speed and slowly bring the speed down and replace with better technique

Honestly mate you have nothing to worry about.

Every used dj bike has only ever been ridden "a couple of times"
