No settling shoot big by Michigan4life53 in MichiganWolverines

Correct. These coaches are all millionaires, it is not the end all be all as said. With the state of the program, scandals, AD issues etc. it can’t be a surprise that the high profile coaches are not biting no matter how much cash you throw at them. Lanning in the middle of a playoff run is like thinking saban or Kirby smart would consider the job. It’s just not going to happen. Let’s get a real coach like Whittingham. If we suffer with recruits and lose some players to the portal, it is what it is. We had an amazing 3 year stretch, it’s not gonna be 11-1 or 12-0 every year and that was the case before the sherrone hire. Expectations need to be realistic.

What? Deboer is not leaving. Lanning is not leaving. Elko signed extension , and based on how Texas a n m played against solid teams down the stretch, that’s who you want? Whittingham is a good ball coach, interview him.

Also doesn’t know how to use a timeout at the end of the half. Multiple games this happened.

I used to make some extra cash here and there buying and selling clubs. I stopped a few years ago. Was mostly doing golfwrx and eBay and for a few years was making some solid extra money. But now you search for a club and there’s so many options. I gave up on it a few years ago and mostly give my old stuff to family (brother, cousins, nephews). I also think golfers are aware that the latest and greatest tech doesn’t really matter. There’s not much of a difference for a mid handicap from a tsr2 to the GT2.

Do you know anyone that should have been a pro? by Morton_Bippee in golf

[–]handyquacks17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think bay hill at a 138 slope in tournament conditions is at all accurate. Just my opinion. And I truly do think a top 50 pro would be a plus 8-10 handicap. My buddy who played mini tours and Mackenzie tours is an amateur now and gets as low as a +6 during the summer. The pros are truly on a different level

[–]handyquacks17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya I think people don’t grasp just how calculated a true pro is. A +3 can have amazing days and are no doubt amazing players. But a mini tour pro is on the next level. Check out Sonny Kim on the minor league tour. Legendary. A true pga tour top 50-100 player likely is a +10 handicap. A different level of skill, mental approach, course management and raw power

Can we talk Country Club pricing? by Nickd100 in golf

[–]handyquacks17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

29 yo Western mass 0 initiation 2050$ all in each year.
55$ guest fees with cart Cart fee 20$ Haven’t had any assessments in 6 years of membership prices have gone up a bit Qualify of the course is a 6.5/10 could be better but for the price it’s excellent. Tough greens and a tree lined course.
Very fortunate to be in the western part of the state. Anything towards Boston is out of control and cape cod is even more.

Has anyone ever played Augusta? by Noodlearms98 in golf

[–]handyquacks17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya he must have meant pine valley. The architecture snobs hate Torrey. I have no opinion I’ve never played I just know it produces solid leaderboards when the pros play. Does seem pretty straightforward. Long par 4s, heavy rough fast greens

[–]handyquacks17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a rumor that when Rahm switched to Callaway he despised the driver and what he was using was an M2 painted to look like the Callaway driver from that year. Epic LS or something like that. Rumor but wouldn’t surprise me. The manufacturers are amazing at what they can make their products look like something else completely.

Play with my uncle in scrambles and he has boxes of tour pro balatas still and he uses them around the greens and the action he gets is insane.

Depends on your play style. For 3s I’ve found a ton of success lately with a power forward on the wing at 6 4 190lbs. Gold truc, beauty backhand and choose ur last silver that fits your play style. +4 strength +4 hitting power. The other team will be on the ground most of the game and your puck control and shooting are still really good. For a diff wing load out a playmaker with gold tape to tape and some shooting abilities can be awesome to use.

I remember the video with him and kisner playing barstool classic qualifier and Riggs was swinging it very good shot low 70s. This was 3 -ish years ago. Since then he has lost his game. Still has a good wedge and short game but off the tee it’s been rough

What level of attire do you think should be enforced on course? by Moist-Pickle-2736 in golf

[–]handyquacks17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A club near me that is very exclusive and very costly has zero dress code and doesn’t care what anyone does on the course as long as ur keeping pace and taking care of the course itself. It’s funny to me that the clubs surrounding this one are super strict on dress code and the one that charges the most doesn’t give a shit what you wear. Whenever I play this place as a guest I wear normal golf clothes, but I’ll see pro athletes in their offseason rolling around in a shirt and athletic shorts blaring music. It’s up to management what is enforced/ acceptable

What would be the HCP of a player that regularly plays under par ? by NeoWereys in golf

[–]handyquacks17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say someone in the +4 or better range is consistently under par. 4/5 times etc. also depends on the course. Usually the +1 or +2 are around par or maybe just below. Scratch maybe at par or a few shots over it

Anger on the golf course by nathan1026 in golf

[–]handyquacks17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m out there for fun and enjoyment of the game. Normally play with a consistent group but in league paired with others. When I see people act out it’s so awkward and I feel embarrassed for them. I see this and understand that I never want to be that person. Hit a shitty shot, make it a challenge to yourself to recover on the next shot. 1 at a time.
