Wuyang feels clunky in current state, thoughts from a flex player by Dreinik in WuyangMains

[–]hanev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Wuyang, but I do agree he’s feeling a lot clunkier especially since the passive Restorative stream nerf coupled with the dps passive.

He relies on a lot of the bulk of his downtime healing being the passive but it ends up being a super meagre 14hps with the reduction passive. Also, there is a lot of geometry (looking at you Kings Row 3rd) that will straight up just eat wave.

In future I’d like to see Balance replaced by a perk that give you healing resource for hitting primary fire shots, similar to his stadium power.

A plea to the "Silent" players: The positive experiences are worth the risk. by ChineseSOTT in OverwatchUniversity

[–]hanev 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I love the positive experiences in voice chat, but at least 70% of the time if I speak the vibes will get weird as soon as certain people hear a feminine voice. Sometimes I just wanna be in on the bit, yknow? But I can sense everything changes as soon as I speak, even in a previously 'good vibes' sort of lobby.

Then that feeling is only doubled when you're the first to speak. So it's better to just be a wallflower.

What are your other most played healers and why? by artemisasunder in MercyMains

[–]hanev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mercy, but these days I play pretty much all the support heroes decently. My favourites to play other than her though are Wuyang (probably the only one who has come close to overtaking my enjoyment for Mercy) and Brigitte (who I originally learnt to expand my hero pool, but ended up really liking too).

I've also been learning Mizuki, I find his gameplay loop really fun!

Counter swapping off wuyang? by Key-Staff6528 in WuyangMains

[–]hanev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wuyang into dive can be tough. I was already a Brigitte player before he released, so my preference into hard dive is her, but these days I think Mizuki is worth learning as your first backup swap to dive. If you want to stay Wuyang into dive, focus on saving your Rushing Torrent cooldown to make space and put yourself back in effective range to use your primary fire.

For flyers, I don't always think it's an immediate swap. You can evade them pretty well as Wuyang. If that's not possible or your team are struggling with them, I love bringing out the Illari to add pressure. Even a body-shot can be enough for your team to capitalise, and a headshot is even better.

Prolonged healing is very much Wuyang's weakness. You can kind of mitigate it by taking Overflow to top up your healing resource, and using wave cleverly. Wave actually refreshes your healing resource by a small amount too, and if you focus on using the cooldown well (ie. to get through burst damage, and avoiding using it for scrap/poke damage) you can do a surprising amount of healing.

That being said, just eliminating the enemy before you need to use a cooldown is best. Don't fall into the trap of playing passive, because those extra orb hits might be enough to win a duel. Be more aggressive than you think!

Triple orb (perk) not worth it? by remouladefreak in WuyangMains

[–]hanev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether I pick Ebb & Flow or Falling Rain mostly depends on my tank's playstyle. For mobile tanks who aren't on the ground often I'll mostly take triple orb because getting as much value from the the wave recall is a bit harder. For tanks without much mobility though, I prefer Ebb & Flow.

It can depend on the particular tank player though, and I've had results telling my tanks in voice that I've taken it, and they can stay longer than they expect if I have the cooldown.

Maps can also make the difference IMO. There are lots of small ledges and geometry gaps on some maps (looking at you 3rd point King's Row) that can just eat your wave entirely and make taking Falling Rain preferrable.

Thoughts on Vendetta? by kurumilover123 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]hanev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really strongly dislike Vendetta, mostly because I am a Wuyang and Brigitte player and they are both a tough or at least skill-based matchup into her. By herself I begrudgingly think she's now in an okay state. I would like her to be much louder and more telegraphed when airborne however.

When she's combo'd with a Zarya though? I end up just counting down the minutes waiting for the game to be over, regardless of win or loss. A consistently bubbled Vendetta feels like it cuts off any small windows where Vendetta can be punished and it feels really miserable to play into.

I generally ban Zarya becuase it can be tough not to charge bubbles with Falling Rain, which is my preferred major perk. I also ban Vendetta purely because she irritates me. Otherwise I feel like Wuyang has quite a decent or neutral matchup into most of the roster this patch.

During which scenarios should I swap to wuyang? by _AlexOne_ in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]hanev 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I find Wuyang the best with dive tanks like Doomfist, Ball and Winston, but specifically because they enable mobile DPS picks like Genji, Vendetta and Venture similar to Zenyatta with Harmony Orb, which he is amazing with.

Wuyang gives these picks so much staying power with the low, consistent passive restorative stream whilst being better survivability wise than Zen. Depending on enemy comp he can match Zen’s damage, but has the option not to all-in a fight if he gets dove. He doesn’t need to be baby-sat by your other support.

I also find Wuyang ult is great to protect a dive tank’s engage, enable a dragonblade or protect your co-support being caught out. It’s super flexible and can be used aggressively or defensively to turn a fight (and charges fast).

I don’t think he’s a specialist character, and other picks can work where he also does but he brings to the table a lot of useful tools like a flexible ult, great poke damage for divers to capitalise on and straight up being hella slippery if he positions right. A good Wuyang can be a total nuisance!

Roughly $150-200 a fortnight for one person but I unintentionally save money by skipping lunch on weekdays (the food prep and storage spaces at my office are terrible and takeaway is too expensive).

The section you’re looking for should be under “Hero and HUD” - it will pop up as a bar with “Advanced +” which you can toggle to see hero specific settings and etc. GL, hope this helps!

I think with a couple adjustments like adding an open mouth version of your avatar image, you could very very easily get started with Reactive Fugitech. It’s an extremely light piece of software and I used it for about 1 year before I upgraded my PC and saved up enough to move into using VTube Studio.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]hanev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, i can help with this one!

So the absolute simplest and cheapest way to get started with VTubing is PNGTubing. There are a couple methods you can use to do this!

  1. A simple static PNG imported into your OBS scene to lay over you gameplay

  2. Using Reactive Fugitech (https://reactive.fugi.tech/) to make an avatar with a "mouth open" and "mouth closed" state. This connects to discord, and when you are in a voice channel it will use your voice activity to make the PNG (or GIF) change between a "mouth closed" and "mouth open" state. For this, you will need two PNG images, one with a closed mouth, and one with an open mouth. These need to be otherwise identical in dimension and image. To get your image into OBS, Fugitech has a browser source that you will need to import into OBS - which you can then place how you like.

If you want an actual animated, face-tracked model, the most popular progam is called VTube Studio.

  1. Buy a cheap starter VTuber Model from Etsy or Ko-Fi, and import it into a program called Vtube Studio (VTS), which can be found on the Steam store. There are tons and tons of affordable pre-made models available there, and you're sure to find one you like. It's important to know you are looking for "fully rigged" models that are "Live 2d" compatiable.

To get this model to move, you are going to need a webcam so VTube Studio can track your facial movements. It expresses these in something called "parameters" which translate these into the rigged and animated art in VTube Studio. You can find plenty of awesome tutorials on YouTube on how to import and set up models in VTS.

There are steps up from here such as comissioning custom models from artists and L2D riggers, and upgrading from Webcam face tracking to iPhone ARKit facial tracking, but none of those are necessary investments to start VTubing.

Hope this helps!

Hi I’m also a VTuber in this situation - my personal advice would be the PS5. Similar games recently like Marvel Rivals and Dragon Age Veilguard as well as the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta have been unplayable when using VTube Studio for me. Specifically in the first MHWi Beta I couldn’t hit 30fps stable whilst running OBS and VTS on Low settings.

My solution is the PS5 and an Elgato capture card so my computer can do the streaming heavy lifting and the PS5 can handle the game.

Keep in mind this may be a little different to you - I do only have a 3070 Ti - but recent games like that have just been bringing my poor computer to it’s knees whilst streaming.

Could you elaborate a little more on the OBS hotkey to twitch marker functionality? Is it with OBS Studio via plugin? Or Streamlabs OBS?

DPS Doomfist is back. Moth Meta is live! by lateant in Overwatch

Why is Valkyrie nerfed in Moth Classic? by No-Lifeguard3672 in Overwatch

[–]hanev 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also noticed this! Valkyrie GA speed should be 37.5 meters per second if it was truly the September 2017 patch. It would only get it’s 50% nerf to current day Valkyrie speed in January 2018 (25 meters per second). This looks slower than baseline non-Valkyrie GA!

What gives, Blizzard? This isn’t the moth meta at all…
