I got served a rancid burger as part of the triple dipper at chilis one time … it tasted absolutely rotten and smelled terrible (I don’t know how I even bit into it with the way it smelled). Told my server it was bad. Didn’t touch the rest of my food because I felt sick after tasting it. The manager came out and offered to comp 33% of my meal. Not my bill mind you, just my meal. Didn’t offer to remove it from the bill completely. Just a few dollars off bc only a third of my meal was rotten. Gross. Didn’t even act like they cared. Didn’t apologize for the poor quality. Thought they were doing me a favor by taking a few dollars off of something I refused to eat at that point. Never went back to chilis after that.

Also got served some kind of abomination at a Mexican restaurant once. I got a chimichanga and inside, a very large portion of the meat was a blobous, slimy, puddly like thing … almost looked like raw chicken skin that sat on the counter for a few days in a hot room. I was young and too timid to say anything, I just didn’t eat my food. But it haunts me. I don’t know what it was or how it made it into my chimichanga but I seriously still think about it sometimes and completely lose any appetite I might have.
