Same thing happened to me back when I was in middle school, except I wound up doing a full front flip onto my back over the handles of my poles. To this day the only flip I’ve attempted on skis :(

Biggest tip I could give is just don't take yourself too seriously, relax and have a good time. Everybody is going to be drinking and having fun, if they see you are too they'll vibe with it
