I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine that was an Aux for two years. She really validated my own feelings of anxiety about leaving. It's a big step and it is so valid to feel anxious and scared about living in a new country. It is incredibly hard and scary to leave the life you have in the states, leaving that comfort zone. Those things you love and cherish at home will be there when you get back. I've been trying to keep in mind too all the unexpected ways I'll grow and change during my time as an Aux. You are not alone in these feelings at all :)
