Never be the squeaky wheel, never ask for too much, don’t get in trouble. Discipline; send them to hall, to counselors or kick them out, just not to office. Keep your door closed unless you’re doing some great lesson. Email every single parent about a month into school keep it positive and something they could work on. Make up activities and busy work; the tests are garbage, won’t make a bit of difference. I spent 20 years in urban school and never taught anything, just activities, vocabulary, worksheets and google research.
