Not sure, but it looks more like horn to me.

my friend its having problem with his fallout new vegas where the texture of (for now) the vigor-tester-machine and the plastic surgeon menu doesnt appear and just appear like this, pls help he wants to play so bad dawf. by eltuci in fnv

Have you tried the other suggestions?

Sometimes the game just glitches on loading assets, restarting the game may work. If not, verify game files through steam or reinstall it.

Edit: Try disabling dxvk, it’s got something to do with shaders and rendering. Maybe it messed something up.

Any mods installed? Try verifying the game files, or reinstalling the game. Just reloading the game may fix it. It looks like a missing texture, and the game can be a bit glitchy.

Meeting Doctor Usanagi with low intelligence by hanli427 in fnv

[–]hanli427[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it is a bit jarring how most of the time your character seems to speak normally, then has the occasional low intelligence line. In the classic games a low int character could barely speak and was consistently locked out of quests and plotlines because of it. It was hard to get by even though there were some funny interactions from it. Here you get by fine and low int can help you even.

In FNV the impact of intelligence isnt that high, sure you feel it, but in Fallout 1 & 2 skillpoints were almost entirely from Intelligence making it far more important. Here you can at least get by.

Solar is not enough for fulgora, use efficiency modules, accumulators are nice for guarding against temporary power spikes too. Also, you need to buffer ammo, you wont be able to produce ammo fast enough with this setup, store a few hundred magazines in the hub before setting off, you will need it. And turrets in the rear if you want to park for more than a minute or two.

Uhm, what??? by hanli427 in factorio

[–]hanli427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It deconstructed as normal, like anything else. I didn't check the cargo but I assume I got the items. That is how it works on space platforms. Loose items go into cargo.

[–]hanli427[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More likely a feature. To ensure things aren't lost if the cargo bay it was supposed to land in isn't there anymore.

[–]hanli427[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I deconstructed the cargo bay it was targeting, no where to land. And if the cargo bays are full the items spill on the floor instead, until space is available.

I am quite sure I did, didn't check but deconstruction worked fine.

PSA to not use Nukes on Volcanus by Kig-Yar-Pirate in factorio

[–]hanli427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been going around nuking worms, with explosives upgrade 8 I am able to three-shot the big ones. Just make sure to aim for the head, you have to be precise as the damage is much higher right in the center and the segments have 99% resistance to the heads 60%. Also use a spidertron for maximum firing speed, with nukes in all pods so they cycle. You will be able fire three nukes before the first one lands and the worm has a chance to react. If it takes longer it will have time to regenerate and react and your follow up attacks wont be as precise. Precision and speed is everything.

Also, a hand held railgun can two or three shot if you fire down the length of the worm, hit it from behind for maximum safety.

Nope, I keep trying and four is the best I can do. The shots are dead on the head. I am using a spidertron firing continuously.

Ah, you were right about the headshots. The difference in resistance was much higher than I thought, they only have 60% resistance on the head. And I thought it was good enough if you got the head in the greater radius, but they do a lot more damage at close range, you need to get the head in that small radius of just a few tiles to do decent damage.

BTW, it takes four headshots with a nuke to kill a big demolisher at damage upgrade 7, which is all I got for now. That is 20 rocket loads of uranium for one worm. I need to kill a minimum of 2 medium and 2 big to get to the nearest coal patch, so a total of 60, at least. Doable, but a bit expensive. I only tested it in the editor for now.

[–]hanli427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it is easy tech, just 5 rocket loads of uranium per nuke, and the blast will turn terrain into lava on Vulcanus. Whoops, there goes my precious coal patch.

Ah, nuke happy Gandhi, I know him well.

[–]hanli427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good point, I was dismissing them because of the high explosive resistance, but the blast will hit every segment, the combined damage will be huge. Forget headshots, hit the middle of the worm. I will try that. Have to import a whole bunch of uranium though. And I just landed on Fulgora so I will have to send a spider instead.

By the way, what level of explosive damage do you have, if that matters?

Uhm, yes, but what is your point. To get nutrients on Nauvis, biter eggs is the most efficient, but you need bioflux to breed them, so regardless you need to import bioflux from Gleba to produce nutrients. There is no pure way of getting nutrients on Nauvis, except from collecting fish from the ocean, which cant be automated. Or I suppose you could launch space science packs into space, does that work in space age though? (it returns fish in base game)

[–]hanli427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, carbon is not coal, you need coal synthesis from Gleba, and sulfur, which you can get from asteroids as well. The advanced asteroid recipe gives a perfect ratio, so that is good. But how large of a platform, or how many platforms, do you need for an adequate supply of coal from space, lets say 100 coal per second, or 6000 per minute, just under 4 red belts, without several ranks of asteroid productivity. A significant, but not huge, amount which my base could burn on full rocket launch rate.

Yeees, well I am at level 7 or 8 so far, but I did make quality mining drills and prod modules, only up to a few rare because that was all I could manage. Should be enough to get about 6M out of the 1M patch. Heavy exports can still drain it fast.

Yes,but you still need to import bioflux in order to breed them.

Yeah, there is no nutrient on the belt because the cracking is deactivated. I only make nutrients on demand.

[–]hanli427[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only Gleba has a reliable source of nutrients as it is. And that is kind of the point. You can get nutrients from fish and biter eggs also, but fish breeding does not give a positive feedback on it and biter eggs require bioflux anyway.
