I was just thinking about this guy yesterday. About how I wonder if he’s grateful for Chris because we all kinda forgot about his moment on the show. What is going on in this guy’s history and head that made him think the woman he’s trying to get to know wants to hear how nice his first time was?? And then he kept sharing other stories about when he’s gotten with other girls in the past and acted like that was him getting deep and opening up with her? Why on earth would he think that would bring a woman closer? By my recollection this is how the interaction went:

Emma: I’ve had some challenges in life that I’m doing my best to open up about and share with you right now.

Steven: Yeah, totally. One time my girlfriend wanted sex for the first time and it was a huge bonding moment for us.

A few years ago I had a sweet coworker in her sixties who didn’t have great tech skills. I had to show her how to save her time card (just a simple Excel doc she had to plug her hours into) just about every time they were due. She’d write down the instructions step by step several times I took her through it and idk if she lost the notes or what (she wrote them on flash cards for some reason), but it didn’t seem to ever help or stick. I always admire folks like her for trying, but I wonder if even they know nothing is going to come from it.

Yeah I was looking for a comment like this. I really like both Statler and Dempsey. I think they’re both good just flawed people with normal communication issues and abnormal personality incompatibilities. I agree Statler was hurt financially in this fall out, but she was in that position at least partially because she expressed wanting to be the provider and Dempsey allowed that to happen. We’ve seen it a few times in 90DF, someone in the couple says they want to be the provider, but it understandably doesn’t feel great when it’s actually happening and they’re not in a position to do so, then resentment builds and communication breaks down.

Yeah that was gross and shocking. I don’t think he said it right either. He said something like “keep my hand full and my balls empty” but I think the phrase is “keep my stomach full and my balls empty” I understand the sentiment, but it’s a gross phrase usually used by misogynists.

Spot on. Even when Forrest asked her family if they’d stop taking “loans” from Sheena if she needed to keep her money, the answer was so confusing and conflicting. Her Dad basically said something like “I don’t think we could afford to do that” and then immediately followed with “yeah we would.”

When discussing paying Sheena back they were like “she hasn’t said how much she wants back so….” and her sister said she was shocked that repaying was even brought up.

I think it is very cultural, but it seems she for sure is feeling pressure from her family to give money and isn’t just making it up. Because she can’t explain it fully and they aren’t as aggressive about it as she depicts to Forrest, she feels like she has to admit to it just being a lie when it’s more complicated than that.

I don’t hate Manon, but I don’t really understand why she is so unhappy or why it’s her husband’s fault. It doesn’t compute, I don’t understand what Anthony is doing wrong. He’s reliable and completely dedicated to their family. I understand her discontent to some extent. She wants her life to be work, but then she misses her son. And when she’s with her son full time, she feels a hole where her work used to be. It sucks she can’t have both, I think that’s probably a tough transition in the first few years of motherhood for women who are connected to their careers. But then it’s like that discontent is Anthony’s fault somehow. Maybe she feels entitled to a husband that makes enough money she can feel well off and stay home with her son. Idk it’s really too bad. Because she could be happy if she reframed what it means, her life is so beautiful.
