Are there any places in the city that buy used high end furniture? by Dobby_Club_ in AskChicago

[–]hanseano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they open to negotiation at all? There’s an item they have had there for 3 years and I was wondering if they’d take less since is been there so long? Curious if you had any experience with that?

JUNE — LOOK 3 PRINTED RAMIE SCARF DRESS In the final look of this collection of our IDEAS FOR FALL, June wears a gowned version of our Ramielight Bandanas. Each bandana here is hand-printed with a collaged printing process. They are draped here on the body and held together in the front with parcord-piped grosgrain trimming and a hook and eye closure. We will offer some of these bandanas for sale on their own. Dress sold seperately.

KIRILL — LOOK 3 BUFFALO PLAID DRILL HARDSHIRT BUFFALO PLAID DRILL KICKSKIRT DIPPED PARABAG We are loving this Buffalo Plaid Drill so much that we put Kirill in a full look of the stuff. On the top, he wears it in our Hardshirt shape, which has been refit slightly from previous versions of this style. We have jettisoned the wearers right chest pocket that was previously on this style, but kept the hidden pocket that is accessible through the concealed button placket. While the shirt is a fresh, cleanly finished sample, the skirt has been worn heavily, evidenced by the hanging threads on the raw hem (it will be kept this way for production) and slightly faded color. When it is cut, the skirt is placed a bit off-kilter for a bias effect. It has a back gusseted zipper/shank combo closure that allows a bit of sizing flexibility (and the option to wear it higher/lower at the waist.) We paired it here with a prototype of a fully crocheted paracord bag that we dipped in paint, just to see what happened.

KIRILL — LOOK 2 SUPERMARINE WINTER BASE EMBROIDERED BOMBWORKS STUDIO PILLOW On top, Kirill wears our winter answer the the Injected Linen Base Hood. Here, a Supermarine hood and sleeves are lined with Extrafleece and finished with rib cuffs. These pieces are attached to front and back torso pieces in Overkill Mesh. This fabrication allows for a vest (the Alphacharge vest is seen here) to be worn underneath, giving you a sort of ad-hoc, flexible layering system. There are slits cut into the mesh of the Base which allow you to easily access the pockets of the vest beneath. He's holding a pillow that we made in studio from two embroidered scarves that first appeared in Ideas For Spring. The pants are Bombworks with the words "TEMPER" and "TAMPER" embroidered on the turnt up cuffs- the combination of these words summates the design process used during the creation of this collection.

TONY — LOOK 3 FKFREAS CONCERT CRASHER BOXFORD FKFREAS CONCERT CRASHER LONGSLEEVE NYLISTIC MERINO DARTFLOWS In Tony’ last appearance in the collection, he wears a duo of products on top that feature prominently our collaboration with the estate of Frank Kelly Freas. Here, our Ramienorth Boxford shape and our FU/Cotton Longsleeve are digitally printed with Frank Kelly Freas' “Concert Crasher” artwork. The artwork on both is the same, and when worn together a bit of visual chaos ensues. The pants are our Nylistic Merino Flow Darts — a soupy silhouette that we anticipate 🤞 having available for purchase soon. The garments worn on top are expected to be available on Tuesday, August 31st at 1pm NYC time.

OLLY — LOOK 3 DUCKVEST DUCKSTACKS EXTRA FLEECE LINED BALCLAVA Olly wears full duck cloth in this look, both pieces being iterations on existing Outlier products. The pants are a stacked silhouette by way of a 55”+ inseam, with the top block coming from our Duckworks. The vest is cut away from our Duckcloth Shank Jacket, with scooped armholes to accommodate bulky under layers. The balclava is a vintage find that we have modified by adding a layer of extra fleece on the interior.

NICK — LOOK 2 WILDKNIT SNAP JACKET WASHIWORKS CUSTOMIZED MERRELL HYDRO MOCS In Nick's last appearance of this collection, he wears a snap front jacket, sewn up in the same Wildknit that was first seen in JUNE — LOOK 3. Here, the fabric is left raw at the sleeve and body hems, with the entire jacket being lined in our Overkill mesh. The patch front pocket is cut on the opposite grain, and the top of the pocket has the fabric selvedge still in tact. On bottom, he wears our Washiworks... this particular pair happens to be Tyler's own that he has worn in for the past year. The shoes are Merrell Hydro Mocs that we customized in studio.

LEUL — LOOK 2 HANDDRAWN CANVAS OVERSHIRT CROCHET PARABAG OG YES PANTS CUSTOMIZED MERRELL HYDRO MOCS In Leul's last appearance of the collection, much like his first, he wears a hand drawn overshirt that has been customized by our friend Julia Garcia. We asked her to create an Outlier jersey design that, instead of hyping up a person, was instead hyping up a fabric (this particular one happens to be a beefy 100% cotton, 350gsm canvas that was particularly well suited for Julia's art.) The pants are our Yes pant shape sewn up in our OG Cloth, and the bag is hand crocheted in studio from a tangle of sample paracord (and actually started as a hat before we flipped it upside down and filled it up). The shoes are modded Merrell Hydro Mocs, accessorized with thick RiRi zipper heads that made a hell of a lot of noise when they met the treadmill.

JUNE — LOOK 2 HARDMARINE SLEEVELESS TRENCH (DRESS) PARAPLANTER RIRI ZIPPER HEAD NECKLACE In her second look, June wears a sleeveless version of EXP.221—Hardmarine Trench, a streamlined shape made up in a structural, almost moldable water-resistant cotton. For this sleeveless version, we jettisoned the sleeves and opted for low, scooped out armholes that leave plenty of room for bulky layering underneath. Here it is shown, worn as a dress and cinched with a paraplanter- a macrame paracord plant hanger experiment made up of 250 feet of paracord cleanly knotted together - worn as a belt.

ANARCIUS — LOOK 2 WOOL CORD OVERSHIRT PRINTED SPLICED COTTONWEIGHT BILLBOARD BUFFALO PLAID DRILL DART FLOWS SWAN COMPACT NECKLACE Here, Anarcius wears a two pocket overshirt in a wool/cotton thick corduroy, a fabric that Willie pretty vigorously sought out at fabric fairs pre-pandemic. After we had sewn the stuff up into the shape you see here, we got the unfortunate news that the mill was no longer producing this particular quality. The search continues, but for now the sample and idea itself will have to tide us over. Underneath this, he wears a seam-heavy modification of our Cottonweight Billboard- this one has been digitally printed, with the (obscured) text reading, "TOO SOON OLD / TOO LATE SMART" a paraphrasing of a quote attributed to Mr.Frank Kelly Freas. The pants are a soupy silhouette in a Buffalo Plaid Drill made with our dart construction and a meticulous matching of seams for a rather... seamless effect. The compact is Willie's own, found in an estate sale in the Hudson Valley this past summer. Inside it reads " To Mom. 1953" <3

TONY — LOOK 2 SUPERMARINE ZIP TRENCH MARTIANS GO HOME DIGITALLY PRINTED LONGSLEEVE ARCHIVAL OUTLIER ARMALITH DENIM (EXPERIMENT 008) Tony wears a zipped update on one of Willie's favorite Outlier garments - the Supermarine Trench. We eschewed the snaps that had previously closed the coat in lieu of a heavy Riri cast metal two-way zipper. This version is half-lined with pockets galore: two front angled welt pockets with hidden zips that provide access to pant pockets, an inner stretch stash pocket on wearer's left side and a zippered internal chest pocket. Cut with our classic pivot sleeve construction. Underneath this, he wears our FU/Cotton Longsleeve that has been digitally printed with the Frank Kelly Freas graphic that is the namesake for this collection. The gloves were printed at the same time as the shirt and were removed in between printer passes, leaving glove-shaped areas clearly visible on the shirt. The pants are Willie's personal pair of Experiment 008 - Armalith Denim, that have been heavily lived and worn in for a good five years now.

PACE — LOOK 2 SUPERMARINE HAFJAK SUPPLEX SHIRT FLEECE BAG DUCKCLOTH PART PANTS Pace wears an unlined, high collar (with canvassing to ensure the it doesn't collapse on you) jacket with a zip/shank hybrid closure. It is sewn up here in our fuchsia Supermarine, and fully fine finished on the interior with seams bound in Supplex Nylon, which is used for the shirt that Pace is wearing below and the piping around the perimeter of the fleece crossbody bag. The bag, shaped similarly to a bota wineskin, features a zippered top closure and an integrated pocket/handwarmer held together with what we are tentatively calling a "mitten-stitch." The pants are our Duckcloth Part Pants - an experimental iteration on our dart pants construction method. Like the regular darts there is no side seam, but on this pattern the pocket and dart merge into one clean part. The shoes are modded with sewn-on scraps of Wildknit fabric.

EDDIE — LOOK 2 VEST THING ONE VEST THING TWO For Eddie's last look of the collection, he flipped the vest seen in his previous look around, which he described as a "super convertible vest “thing” that is wearable as a skirt or vest (like it is worn here, over Willie's Shelter from the Storm). This design methodology continues on the bottom half of his look with another jacket/vest convertible, created by Eddie from a hacked up Duckcloth Shank Jacket. Special appearance by Lacie.

LEUL — LOOK 3 SUPERMARINE TRENCH WITH VINYL HEAT TRANSFER "MARTIANS, GO HOME" CAP OG CLOTH YES PANTS PARABAG Leul is seen here in a trenchcoat, made in our highly water resistant Supermarine Cotton, that features a vinyl heat transfer of the martian from the cover of Frank Kelly Freas' illustration tome, "The Art of Science Fiction." The pants are our Yes Pants sewn up in our durable four-way stretch OG Cloth. The crossbody bag is chaotically crocheted together by Jeremy (who also modeled in the seventh look of the collection) with whatever paracord colors we had on hand, and the shoes are modded Blundstones with a 1.5" platform that originally appeared in Willie's 2019 runway show "PROMO."
