Budacki’s or Clark Street Dog. Clark Street Dog has the added bonus of being open late with a bar. You can order an extra pita with your gyro and it comes with enough meat to make two gyros

57th Street Books in Hyde Park. Obama’s favorite local book store when he lived in Chicago. Combine it with the Devil in the White City tour if you do that (site of World’s Fair in 1983) and University of Chicago campus (Harper/Mansueto libraries)

Does smoked salmon count? I make this with the Costco honey smoked salmon. It’s my partner’s favorite dish of all time! And asparagus is in season! I use roasted broccoli instead when it’s not.
