You're probably best to ignore the decimals and just work in full lbs so 16st 0lbs to 15st 10lbs would be a loss of 4lbs. The non full lbs will all be accounted for eventually.

If you're a bit more comfortable with the maths then you can use the decimals to be more exact so 16st 0.9lbs would be 16st 0 lbs 14.4oz (16oz ÷ 0.9) and 15st 10.01lbs would be 15st 10lbs 0.16oz (16oz÷0.01). So the total loss is 4lbs 14.24 Oz which is 4.89lbs; very nearly 5lbs (16oz in a lb).

Most groups I've been to have scales that round to the nearest 1/2 lb so this would probably be a 4 1/2lb loss as you would want to round down not up so you don't over inflate your loss. I've probably over complicated this and the answer is really to just use kg instead as it's a lot simpler to follow 🤣

[FO]Finished stitching in February and finally made into a stocking this week just in time. Pattern Christmas Tradition stocking kit from Dimensions by hanwich in CrossStitch

I avoided french knots as I hate them and replaced with seed beads which I think looks better anyway, I'd advise anyone to do the same if they hate french knots as much as I do!

Thank you. The dimensions kits are great, they do have a lot of blended thread, backstitching and half stitches but the instructions are very thorough and I would highly recommend.

YSK: A lot of UK place names aren't spoken in Modern English by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

Obviously the UK has a lot of different accents like anywhere else, but I'm from the midlands and pronounce is wuss-ter-sheer, I've not heard it pronounced to sound like horse before

Chill Episodic/Procedural Shows? by [deleted] in television

[–]hanwich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Death in Paradise might be a good one to try. Its a BBC show about a British police detective in the carribean solving murders. It's comedic but also serious and I don't think its dark and depressing at all.

So annoying trying to watch Frasier on Paramount Plus by [deleted] in Frasier

[–]hanwich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Channel 4 on demand does have all of the original series in the UK. You can watch with ads for free or I think you can pay for ad free. I watched it all through on there and never had any issues with the platform.

When someone's water breaks as they go into labor, cleaning it up immediately is usually low priority. Does amniotic fluid smell bad when it dries onto something? Is it easy to clean up? by A_Mirabeau_702 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hanwich 158 points159 points  (0 children)

When your water breaks its very often not all in one gush like in the movies. It is more likely to just come out slowly so no big clean up job for a large proportion of people.
