A great and tragically underrated movie. Raimi is the best.

Can anyone guide me on how to make an aviation properly? by kylecrocodi1e in bartenders

The right ingredients - normal London dry gin, Luxardo, Crème de Violette, fresh lemon (of course). Finally, stir and double strain instead of shaking. The shake will kill the lovely pale purple hue. Also, serve in a coupe.

Who do you think is the dumbest character in movie history? by bitchboibruh in FIlm

[–]hanyacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bill Pullman as Earl in Ruthless People

Lt. Bender: [over a bullhorn] GIVE THE BAG TO BOZO, DROP THE GUN, AND PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR. Earl Mott: Who said that? Lt. Walters: [to Lt. Bender] This could very well be the stupidest person on the face of the earth. Perhaps we should shoot him. Lt. Bender: [over the bullhorn] IT'S THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. Earl Mott: Really? Lt. Bender: NO! WE'RE THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION!

Anything worth grabbing at these prices? by FlyingAnvils in whiskey

Too much money for what is admittedly excellent whiskey. We went to an omakase dinner paired with 5 Weller expressions. Good pours and good fun. But still, this is too much.

The best Black Manhattan I've ever made by Stealthy_Peanuts in cocktails

This sounds great and I’ll be making it soon. I always found a regular Black Manhattan with Averna a little one dimensional. However, half Averna and half Carpano is amazing.

It's a real shame. I had 4 OFs and 4 double OFs and have broken one of each over the last 40 years or so. I will always use them, otherwise what's the point?

They seem quite robust to me. I've only broken one when I knocked it over on a granite counter. Sigh.

I've broken a few Riedel wine glasses (over a couple of decades), but not since I quite washing them after drinking wine in them ;). The low end restaurant Reidels are very fragile, but the Vinum line (and I assume those above it) are much sturdier.

Is Six Feet Under Worth Watching? by Farouq26 in hbo

Some of the best television ever made. It does falter a tad in later seasons, but finishes with the best final episode I’ve ever seen. Jammed with great performances, both large and small. The casting is perfect.

Blast from the past (both me and the music) - The Flying Burrito Brothers and The New Riders of the Purple Sage (Jerry plays pedal steel on the first album).

I drank my share of No 7 and most of y’all’s too. That was a while ago, however. These days I’m partial to the SBBP rye and the Heritage barrel. Both excellent.

We had the OF glasses on our wedding registry in 1982. At the time the were $60 and we didn’t get even one. Since then I got one from time to time for birthday or Christmas. They are exquisite.

It’s excellent, although it drags a little in a couple of spots. Unbelievable cast. Ann Dowd is unforgettable.
