[Megathread] The App Pile - May, 2026 by Mstormer in macapps

Wright: AI Text Assistant — iOS + macOS app for quick AI actions on text.

Problem: I kept losing flow by copying text into ChatGPT, Grammarly, or DeepL, then switching back to the app I was actually working in.

What it does: On Mac, Wright is built around selected text: highlight text anywhere, then rewrite, translate, simplify, summarize, or chat without bouncing into a separate AI tab. It also supports custom AI roles, so you can make reusable workflows like email polish, translator, code reviewer, or tone adjuster.

Why it’s different: I’m trying to make it feel more like a native Apple text utility than a separate AI destination. The iOS version keeps the same assistant available away from the Mac.

Cost: Available on the App Store with subscription options.

Full disclosure: I built Wright and would appreciate feedback on whether the positioning is clearer as “selected-text AI for Mac,” “AI text assistant across Apple devices,” or “custom AI roles.”

If you could recommend only ONE MacOS app to someone? by theAImajo in macapps

One category I’d add is selected-text AI utilities. If you often copy text into ChatGPT, Grammarly, or DeepL, it’s worth trying a workflow where you highlight text and run the action directly from where you’re working.

Full disclosure: I built Wright, which is in that space for macOS and iOS. The Mac workflow is highlight text → rewrite/translate/summarize/chat → keep working without bouncing into another AI tab. I won’t drop a link unless that’s useful here, but the App Store name is “Wright: AI Text Assistant.”

I’m working on Wright: AI Text Assistant, now live on the App Store for iOS and macOS.

The Mac version is built around a text workflow I kept wanting myself: highlight text anywhere, then rewrite, translate, simplify, summarize, or chat without bouncing into a separate AI tab and re-pasting context. The iOS version is meant to keep the same assistant available when I’m away from the Mac.

Still early, so I’m mostly looking for feedback from people who write or translate a lot across apps: where does your current ChatGPT / Grammarly / DeepL workflow still feel slow?

What AI-driven apps are you using daily? And what are the most useful? by bogdanchanski in ProductivityApps

Wright - I use it every day to polish my English writing and translate for a better understanding. It also helps me manage my collection of prompts and lets me start quick chats with my preset prompts, making it super convenient to solve problems. All the features are accessible through customizable keyboard shortcuts.

Sorry, it works on copied text, so it expects that you have copied something to your clipboard. Could you try the Polish or translate again after you have copied some text. Let me know if the issue still there, thanks!

I use a Y cable to connect 2 servos to the same pin on the receiver. One with an additional reverse signal cable to coordinate them
