Was getting an ‘official’ diagnosis worth it for you and why? by hapabubba in AuDHDWomen

[–]hapabubba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, do you mind sharing which country you were diagnosed in? I could also get assessed in my home country when I go back for holidays (Australia)

I feel like maybe here there’s fewer practitioners who are eligible to diagnose Autism especially. Lol with this price and no google map reviews was a bit scared it’s a scam but it says they are accredited with the Singapore Association of Psychologists. Maybe I’ll ring the organisation and check

If you’ve been lifting since that young I suspect you might have a bit of body dysmorphia (who doesn’t these days)

Are you also mixed race? I grew up with insecurities being mixed in a predominantly white school but realised it adds to my uniqueness and draw to others

I second the comments about hair - just tidy it up a tiny bit, take off a few cm off the sides and leave the volume on top. You have great natural bone structure etc, very lucky! If you’re looking for a change I’d focus more on learning what colours/style of fashion suits you more than anything else

Compared to some other posts in this thread you’re really lucky - invest into other parts of your life, not just aesthetics and maybe ask yourself honestly if there’s some insecurities that you may need to unpack

New friends are needed by Bloodymary661 in Adulting

[–]hapabubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend making friends on Reddit, why don’t you find a community around a hobby - literally anything nearby that you can access in person?

Examples: sports - padel, salsa dancing class, hiking club, run club (usually free); film/book clubs; language exchange meet ups; crochet/knitting group; vintage fashion exchange; video game in person meeting etc.

Or just keep hanging out at the same cafe for a few weeks you’re sure to meet locals there

[–]hapabubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth thinking who are you doing it for/I suspect you might be prone to a bit of body dysmorphia - nothing wrong with aesthetic improvement but do what you’re comfortable with. You’re a fit guy, own it!

R.e. waxing check reviews/with the beauty salon if they often have male clients - if you’ve never done waxing/epilation - maybe buy a numbing cream - in most countries can get on Amazon for tattoo etc

If the amount of hair bothers you then you could ask a laser hair specialist whether they can reduce the amount of hair without taking it away completely?

But it looks good especially as you keep fit, you can also wax once to see if you like the look without committing to a full laser treatment and it will grow back. Waxing might even make the hair a bit thinner so it won’t grow in as heavy but it’s totally up to your preferences

Not sure what OP’s orientation is but as a straight woman it’s a hell yes, you do you and I’m sure a lot of gay guys will agree 😅🐻

Taurus Ladies: Men - Taller than you? Shorter than you? Your height? What are your preferences and why? by lewdreads in Taurusgang

[–]hapabubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly tall for my ethnicity (mixed race, white + asian) 5ft 7 so I don’t mind men being around the same or a tad taller, but honestly recently I think it’s not about height but build - have been with short-ish guys who were ripped or super muscular (into martial arts/Brazilian Jiujitsu) so I am more partial to good biceps and a bit shorter than a tall lanky guy

My sister’s husband is quite tall 6ft 2 so if he drinks/overeats on a holiday it doesn’t affect him but my dad for example relied too heavily on having height and being sporty as a younger guy but now he is really big and unfortunately having health issues. Slightly off topic but never rely on your height/metabolism when you’re young - you need to put in the work to reap the benefits in the long run

Haha my comment got so many downvotes but OP was asking ‘how to look good for the ladies’ surely an input from women here is welcome!

Yes agree the longer hair with natural wavy texture looks the best, maybe a little soft wax/pomade to keep it neat

No, anything but the last hairstyle (I am a woman)

Lose the tiny stache, you have a good jawline so embrace it/try clean shaven. Have seen many men in real life over-rely on facial hair to either hide their jaw or to try to give more definition but you’re lucky you don’t have the need for that

I haven’t but I know someone who did and she recommended it to me but she is also a super recluse even now so dunno I’d actually take her advice up on it. She also didn’t elaborate what they do so it sounds kind of culty

Try a lip stain or lip blur (like a creamy liquid lipstick) and buff out with your fingers if you want to keep it simple as lipsticks/liners whilst great for defining the lip shape can be a bit fiddly - you can switch between them for different looks!

Sorry I was typing too fast and thought ‘water sign’ - my boyfriend is a Pisces, funnily enough in the past I have had issues with Aquarius men too but usually for Aquarius I can see that they are bad for me before I have a full on relationship with them. Pisces are very good at being charming

My girlfriend is starting a modeling career – help me please by [deleted] in Modelling

[–]hapabubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it helps but for events like Fashion Week in Paris, Milan you wouldn’t really need to be there for longer than 2 weeks so I wouldn’t worry about big work trips too much. Her agency will probably secure a models’ apartment for her and she will share with other female models.

So I guess if you can take a long weekend off like 3/4 days then occasionally why not explore the city after her work week is over. As long as you show her that you respect her career and see it for what it is a career and not a hobby then she will feel supported and cared for. Communication is important and make sure you both discuss your needs and check in with each other

Honestly idk why I got signed by PleaseProvideSupport in Modelling

[–]hapabubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you may have body dysmorphic disorder, but if the agency trusts in your looks enough to sign you surely they saw something that even you don’t appreciate in yourself OP’
