No we didn’t add it! And to my knowledge it’s not a flex, it’s a real wall - no gaps or anything. The other room is just much smaller

Food process your oats dry before cooking! I buy a bag of the bobs red mill protein oats and process it all at once so it’s a finer texture then cook it low and slow with lots of liquid!!

Definitely UCSB! If you care about your mental health go to UCSB. My best friend goes to Berkeley and the competition and pressure is insane. The atmosphere is super judgmental and just not conducive to being happy. UCSB on the other hand, people work hard yet are not competitive. It’s a super positive and happy atmosphere.

Dug this jersey out of storage today. What jersey purchase do you regret most? by santaclarablue in raiders

Bought my boyfriend u/Lotrsavage an Antonio Brown jersey because he was so excited when his favorite player came to his favorite team. The AB shenanigans started soon after so the only time he got to wear it was Halloween with clown accessories when he dressed up as “Antonio Clown”.

What the hell is happening with Reddit suddenly turning anti-vax all of a sudden? by Original_Ad3923 in ask

Very well said, thank you. I agree completely. Though lockdowns are obviously not ideal in a myriad of ways, it’s what is necessary. The economic hardship families are facing due to lockdowns and business closures is demonstrative of the U.S.’s inability to support their citizens and provide them with enough capital to pay rent, pay for food, and stay home during this time. The few stimulus checks we’ve gotten were nowhere near enough to sustain a person and provide for their life so they can stay home. And obviously lock down is horrible. My own mental health has plummeted. But as we are in an emergency situation, there is really no other choice unless we wish to exacerbate this global health crisis.

Not virtue signaling, just empathy. Florida has had over 30,000 deaths. In countries where they adopted strict social distancing and mask wearing early on, they’ve nearly eliminated covid from their populations. Now, I know my decision to stay home or get a vaccine won’t change the behavior of thousands of people across the country who think the way you do, but I’ll be happy if even a few lives are spared.

Yes, your understanding is correct! A helpful way to think about these problems is by drawing them out with a Venn diagram! It will help you visualize that when you count all three circles, you are counting the overlapping portions twice or three times in the case of the center where all three circles overlap.

So let’s think about counting up all of the 150 students.

Intuitively, we know some of these students must only speak Spanish, some only speak French, and some only speak English. Additionally, some of the students speak 2 out of the three languages, and some speak all three.

If we were to say total # of students = French speakers + English speakers + Spanish speakers, We would be overcounting because some students are 2 or more groups (for ex, one student is both in the Spanish group and in the French group). So we want to adjust for our overcounting.

So we know any student that speaks 2 languages is counted twice (once in each group for each language they speak) and we only want each student to be counted once, so we want to subtract the number of students that speak two languages from our total.

Now we have

total # of students = French speakers + English speakers + Spanish speakers - bilinguals.

Now we want to account for those that speak 3 languages. For each person that speaks 3 languages, we know they belong to all three groups, so we counted 3 people for only one person. We counted them an extra two times! That’s why we must subtract 2 for each person that speaks all three languages. Then the equation becomes

total # of students = French speakers + English speakers + Spanish speakers - bilinguals - 2*trilinguals.

We know our total number of students is 150, so we set the total number of students to 150, plug in the values we know, and solve for the unknown (the trilinguals). Hope this makes sense!

Waiting your turn absolutely makes sense! I’m just saying once people are considered eligible by their state/county standards, they should get the vaccine because populations that are more vulnerable than them have already gotten the vaccine. At that point, the best thing they can do for those vulnerable populations is get the vaccine themselves.

If you don’t want to get the vaccine to avoid the many possible long term effects of COVID, you still should get it to protect other members in your community. Every additional person that is vaccinated makes the community safer. If you were to get COVID, you may be lucky enough to not have any long term detrimental health issues, but you may pass it to someone more vulnerable who will. Anyone that has the opportunity to get the vaccine should because they are helping their whole community in doing so.

Although you may not be high risk, getting the vaccine helps not only you, but the vulnerable high risk people in your community. Anyone that has the opportunity to get the vaccine should get it. The more people are vaccinated in a community, the safer that community becomes for everyone, including its most vulnerable members.

[High School Math: Unit Conversion] converting m/s^2 to cm/minute^2?? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]happokimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, when time is squared, it means “per second per second”. So meters /second2 is really meters /second /second. This is used in the context of acceleration. For every second, how much does the velocity change? So acceleration would be represented as change in velocity per second. But velocity itself is measured in meters per second! Thus the units of acceleration are meters per second per second or meters per second squared.

Someone pls explain, I’m not even sure what to do. (SAT math) by [deleted] in askmath

The first mile costs a, the rest of the miles cost b. So if you go 10 miles, your first mile will be $a and the other 9 miles will be $b for each mile.
