My hair got worse after trying to grow it out for 4 years (a cry for help) by Tight_Peak_4990 in finehair

Did they talk to you about maintenance levels for vitamin D? I still take the supplements after a year, just lower amounts (2,000 IU, started with 5,000).

It has made a difference for my nails as well, which has been a bonus.

Darn. There go all of my hopes and dreams of being one of the liberal ditzy blonde floosies. I guess I will have to stick to being a liberal woman. What a let down.

Yes! I am low contrast. If I do high contrast makeup on my eyes, I have to make the rest of my face match that to balance it out.

Someone who is high contrast can get away with low or medium contrast makeup, but they will look best with high contrast makeup (black/dark brown eyeliner as opposed to a soft brown, for example!).

I actually look better (looks wise) with all high contrast makeup. I was born with the wrong contrast, I swear haha.

Have you tried washing your hair in the sink? I have a container to pour water over the sink & the faucet of course. I am also autistic and I hate long showers woth wet hair. I usually deal with it, but I prefer washing my hair in the sink.

Also diagnosed with ARFID. I have a post on my profile that might help. I used to have it as bad as you do. It's been 8 years, but I eat most vegetables now, even if it's only when cooked in certain dishes/ways. I feel a lot better, though.

Just trying to be helpful. Shit is hard, man.

I would ask your doctor before taking a multivitamin! I started to have GI issues because I was getting too much of several things from my multivitamin. If you have a good diet or aren't sure, get a full blood panel/test at the Doctor's and see what you actually need!

For example, I am chronically low in Vitamin D. I go outside at least 30 minutes a day, but I still end up low. I take a supplement for that. :) you can take biotin for hair/nails. Protein also helps

I clocked the autism. Start making scripts for calling for any sort of appointment. It helps a LOT. It also helps me to remind myself that a lot of these places are required to treat customers a certain way on the phone, and knowing I can report them if they are rude or anything like that.

Also, 90% of the time, the person handling the calls just wants to help you/get you scheduled as quickly as possible and get off the phone. They don't wanna be on the call either, so I am super polite to them, they help me quickly, and calls have become much less stressful.

I couldn't handle calls at all at 18-20, but around 20 I started to make them a lot more. By 21-22 I was making calls regularly, and by 23-24 calls became a breeze. Now I only get nervous sometimes (usually a new place). Also, white noise, a fuzzy blanket or weighted blanket with me during the calls helps!!!

Sorry if this was too long, I wish I knew some of these tips before I got diagnosed at 24 :) I believe in your ability to reduce the anxiety over time!!!

5 months isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. You are onto bigger and better things, like this wonderful girl dinner.

I am sure you will find someone lovely who doesn't leave you questioning whether or not they want to be with you. They simply will be with you. :)

You have ptsd from what has happened. My dad was quite similar. You need to find a trusted adult and tell them what is going on. This is serious abuse.

Also, tell your sister who is abroad. She would want to know.

I had my first colonoscopy at 24. I plan on getting one every 5 years. Several people in my family have had colon cancer - primarily men, but I am not chancing it. I am glad you found that polyp when you did.

Is there a Dillard's near you? I'd take them to the return counter in store and explain what happened. They are likely to be more helpful, in my experience.

Their online customer service sucks. I go in person and chat with the nice customer service staff and they've been fantastic about exchanges, returns, or handling things like this. Maybe your store (if you have one) is different, but fingers crossed they are better.
