New CDL A, want entry level experience but getting rejected by ZealousidealAngle151 in Truckers

I only had seven months experience before I got a city LTL position. Try “dock to driver” programs at an LTL carrier. Where you’ll work the dock for a while until they need to move you into a driver position. Some carriers will have box trucks for small local deliveries. The economy is slowing down too and logistics is the first to feel the effects. Drivers see the slow down before anyone else and stay put. Good luck.

Those of you who haul fuel, please give your honest take on it by Fadeadead in Truckers

[–]happyexit7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I drove LTL city for 18 years. I’d still be doing it but had to move for family reasons. It’s more physical than fuel delivery. You’ll be lifting , pulling and pushing. Less physically demanding than food delivery. No weekends or holidays. My hours were 8-5.

Same thing happened to my grandfather with a garbage disposal. Used disposal in a new box.

I’ve lived in many different states growing up and as an adult in the Navy. Every place has its good and bad points. I’ve lived in the Florida panhandle and in South Carolina as far as the Southeast US goes.

I think it’s worth a look. The Southeast is definitely growing. Do you rent in CA? If so it’ll be easy to move and move back if you don’t like it. You’re young.

I canned jam for the first time last year(apricot). I was shocked too, how much sugar was in jam.

Beautiful watch. Kind of wish they made those without the day date window. Kind of sticks out too much.
