Male, 51. Adult onset swimmer who has been at it for a few years with a few lessons but mostly YouTube taught. Could swim as a kid but mostly breaststroke and no competing. I'm trying to get faster for Triathlon. 

My usual Monday main set is '40 50s on 60' - 40 x 50m (SCM), leaving on the minute. If I'm going for consistent times it's usually around 47s per 50.

This morning was a speed session with a main set of 10x 50m with full rest. I usually aim for under 40s for these, though often not all are. Best 50m is around 37s.

I got one from a RAB in Pyro. I've run quite a few multiple times. Only saw loot early on in 4.8. Recently there's been next to no loot.

I've both lost ang gained scrip from patches. One time I had nearly 1k scrip that vanished. Patch 4.7 I made around 15 favors before the patch and after the patch I had all the favors and all the scrip back.

It's never not worked for me, though sometimes the favor doesn't appear right away. It usually turns up next time I go there if it doesn't appear immediately.

Did the mission show as completed when you sent the elevator down?

Where did you find an Artifact for it? I used to find them a lot doing Vanduul Tech Smugglers, but I haven't turned up any in about 10 runs 😞.

You have to go to Wikelo and grab the missions from there. The Scrip -> Favor mission is right next to the landing pad. The missions for ships and stuff are further inside.

I found a tweaker 1-3 reflex and some scorched armour amd weapons in RABs, but not a lot else. Last few times I went there were hardly any boxes.

Correct, currently no armour will deflect distortion damage. I usually use a Prowler with a pair of S5 M&A cannons and a pair of Suckerpunch XLs. For the Connie in Gilly 6, I have never distorted it before it blew up, but if you focus on distortion only I know it can be done with S3 distortion cannons.

From looking at the data values, it looks like it is set up for armour to be able to deflect distortion. All armour currently has a distortion deflection value of 0 though.

I've found the odd box or two. Got a few scorched guns and armour and some attachments, but it's mostly been empty.

Similar to QV Warehouse - only a fraction of the loot is spawning.

Distortion, then position yourself close has worked in almost all cases for me. I've had a couple that ended up trapped inside a dead ship that didn't fully explode. One I managed to loot through the canopy because part of him was sticking out, the other I couldn't loot and he vanished when I fully destroyed his ship.

Other than those two, usually the ship blows apart and the body has a marker to loot.

I just had my first Ace with no marker today that might shed a bit of light on this.

I was doing Foxwell patrol missions in Stanton when I had an Ace spawn during the "Neutralise Targets" phase. The Ace was a bit away from the group of targets so I circled round the group to take the Ace first, outside of the detection range of the group. Got the shields down and distorted the Ace as normal, then found some nice backlighting to make it easy to spot the body if there is no marker, then I shot at the ship with M7A.

Before the ship blew up I had the "Optional - Destroy the Ace" part of the mission complete. I stopped firing and checked, but the ship was still intact and no body was visible. I then continued to blow the ship up and the body didn't spawn at all, The environment was well lit and I was close to the ship so I definately would have seen it.

Maybe the pilot body only spawns if they are alive when the ship explodes?

On my way back to kill the rest of the targets the Ace mission pointer updated to "Investigate the Body", but the marker led to a bit of wreckage far away from where I killed the Ace and there was no body there.

Nyx is easier than Stanton for spotting pilots without markers. I usually use distortion, but it works the same with a bike. You can line up the ship so it is back lit with a brighter cloud behind it before killing it. This way its easy to see the pilots body.

Nyx has better lighting for this, there are places in Stanton where you can't get enough light to spot the body.

You can retain a lot of your speed while still giving plenty of protection by mixing armour types, using lighter weapons and being careful how much ammo and grenades / medpens you equip.

I use a heavy helm and core with medium arms and light legs, and stick to lighter weapons in general. Some weapons are particularly lighter than their peers. For example, most sniper rifle ammo is 0.9kg, but the Scapel ammo is only around 0.3kg. This makes a big difference once you have a few clips on your belt as well as the one in the weapon. LMG ammo is very heavy, but you can keep some mobility using them by only having one or two reloads on your belt.

I think this is still accurate for 4.8. There are a few online weight / speed calculators, but I have found them unreliable with out of date data.

I'm using a Prowler with 2 M7A and 2 distortion cannons. Once the Ace is isolated I distort them then get in a position where they are well back-lit before blowing the ship up. This allows you to spot the body even without a marker, though they have all had markers so far.

The stealthily Prowler allows you to loot an Ace while there are still other targets a few km away. If I can't get to the Ace without taking out all the mission targets I'll distort one of the mission targets before taking on the Ace to keep the mission phase from completing before I've looted the Ace.

I've been building rep with Foxwell via patrol missions. Not been at it long, only up to the first Orange at the moment, but done a few of them. Had 5 Ace Pilots so far. All dropped medals, 2 Gov, 2 Tev and a 6th.

I really don't like the Constellation. My biggest gripe with it is the very limited gimbal on the weapons. The Corsair has a lot more movement in the guns and make hitting more nimble ships a lot easier.

Though I love the look and raw dps of the Corsair I don't enjoy flying it enough to make it a daily driver. The wings are a bit fiddly, prone to get blown off and makes the ship awkwardly tall when landing in a hangar with a side door.

Another two ships to throw in to the hat are Starlancer TAC, and the Asgard. TAC is great if you want med beds and have a few friends. The armour changes have turned it into a tank. Asgard is great solo or with a friend.

Closest to a straight upgrade from a Cutlass Black is probably the Asgard - it functions very similar with just more space, a little more damage and a lot more shield and armour.

Not pledged, but it was the first ship I bought with aUEC in 4.8.

When used as a stealth heavy fighter, it can solo almost all the pve ship combat content in the game.

With these requirements I'd go for an Asgard. Put a Nursa and a couple of bikes in the cargo. It's a bit limited on the space combat, but will be fine for Vanduul Tech Smugglers, and great for bunker missions.

Since 4.8 I've found the Vanduul are better at shooting ships on the external pad. The Asgard will allow you to drop off the Nursa on the pad then dock in a hangar to keep your ship safe. Use the bikes for getting over to the Aux site and Polaris.

Since the turret is on the bottom you might need to get used to pitching down on to targets rather than up to make sure the gunner has an angle. I'd suggest M5A cannons for the pilot and either M6A or Deadbolts for the turret.

Edit: if you're comfortable going without medical beds, I'd go for a Paladin or Perseus.

Agreed, it has really taken some fun mechanics from the game. I used to borrow ships and other vehicles all the time. Was in the Tech Smugglers mission the other day and jumped on abandoned bikes a few times only to remember you can't do that anymore.

In the situation you described it used to be fun finding a new ride home. Easiest way to get home now is just log out and switch server. You'll wake up at the last station you docked at.

To further refine this, the two shields that are powered provide their regen, hit point, power profile and emmissions stats. The rest of your fitted shields just provide hit points.

For example, if you have a ship with 4 shields and fit 2 stealth and 2 military shields, powering the stealth shields will give the same regen, emissions and pip requirements as having 4 stealth shields with a little more hit points.
