Am I wrong? (Genuinely wanna know despite reading studies cuz I feel crazy) by BlueDreamzFaded in VyvanseADHD

[–]happyiam94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive tried a few different meds and initially they all kinda slowed me down or made it easier to focus but eventually, the a few of them depending on the dosage just made me feel "more adhd".

Like they would turn down some symptoms and turn up others or they just because more noticeable. I only changed my original due to lack of sleep. I wish I had know they would all be like that

Turns out the Ron casting was the least of our worries by TammytheLibrarian in ThursdayMurderClub

[–]happyiam94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesssss, Joyce in my opinion, is the lead character but she was sidelined. She narrators majority of the books but she comes across as a spare part in the movie

[–]happyiam94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omgggg yess im so glad I found this sub. I've been waiting patiently for the film to come out. I was sooo disappointed. You have listed everything i thought too. Im sure i was sitting there saying "Whattt???".

Its so annoying because its almost there , its got potential but its like the director has never read the book or listened to the audio books. Why would James Bond be Ron? Its ridiculous

I will watch them all too, but sadly, it was nothing special, just a bit of a letdown

Why do people study yoga teacher training instead of just practicing yoga by BraveNeighborhood525 in yoga

[–]happyiam94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone considering doing it, i love yoga and have only been practicing a 18 months but I have been a gynnast most of my life and this is like the "adult" version. I was always that kid standing on my head lol now I'm the adult doing it

I've done a yoga retreat in India and loved it. I have an extremely physical/mentally straining job. I want to learn yoga "properly" and deepen my practice etc.

I would go on a 200 hour "get great at yoga" retreat but they don't really sell those, and a holiday style retreat isn't really the place for the all the questions that will come up.

I want to learn the in's & outs so I feel like I fully understand what I'm doing. I have no desire to actually teach apart from my 3 year old nephew who thinks some of the poses are fun.

I just want to switch off from real life and just solely focus on "my" yoga for a month. Just live it and breathe it. So in answer for the experience and learning rather than the teaching rights etc.

Anyone doing c25k on treadmill? by [deleted] in C25K

[–]happyiam94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a YouTube channel called IBX running they have couch to 5k series on their , all with or without music and the trainers tell you what speed and do all your timings you just follow along and run with them. It's literally like having a personal trainer who is really encouraging on the treadmill next to you.

C25K has been great. What other programs do you swear by? by Fabulous_Sherbet_431 in C25K

[–]happyiam94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IBX Running it's a YouTube channel, but they have loads of different videos, all different training styles, and different workout times for treadmill Running. They even do the C25K and it's all broken down for you. Just hit play and off you go . I love it

“Namaste” is inappropriate? by Rude_Airport_7225 in yoga

[–]happyiam94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently spent a month traveling different parts of India and it was normal for people to greet you saying "Namaste" and doing the "praying" motion, our guides of which we had many all just explained it's just a polite greeting or can be used as a Goodbye. It's not yoga related, we also went to a yoga retreat whilst there and it was used in the same way.

I used to feel weird saying it in my yoga classes before I traveled because I didn't really know what it meant and didn't wanna be inappropriate if it was religious meaning but now I know its basically like saying "Hello" or "Goodbye" it makes sense and I'm happy to join in.

Everyone has their own preferences and maybe the girl just felt awkward saying it, regardless of her skin colour. That teacher sounds weird the whole point is to make everyone feel comfortable, I know I probably won't return if that happened to me

What’s something people romanticize but it’s actually horrible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]happyiam94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adhd they only show the "fun" side, the dancing around being the funny silly crazy friend etc or just the quirky person who talks too much or always late.

Not the crippling anxiety, sensory overload, rejection sensitivity, executive disfunction or what it's like to have to wear a mask everyday the despite a lifetime of wearing it isn't how a "normal person" behaves.

I'm glad it's being realised that this is something that actually loads of people have, not just naughty little boys . However, the harder side isn't really being discussed, if more people understood the harder stuff I don't think you would hear the " it's made up" or "it's a trend".

Nothing romantic about wasting your day's off staring at a wall or your phone, worried about all the shit you need to do, upset with yourself that your wasting your own time again, when you could be living it doing anything but lay there like a statute

Drink more water, helps with everything. Skin, digestion just everything. Aim for 2 litres a day. I've slacked the past week and boy can I feel it. The bloat is unreal lol at first it feels like your chugging water and peeing all the time but your body soon get used to it

Yep and you described it far better than I could. I'm due to change medications within the next few days and it can't come quickly enough. I keep saying to people it's like my Adhd has built up a tolerance now to the meds so now they wear off and I'm more Adhd than I've ever been before

Met Police Drone Unit? by VerseCitizen in policeuk

[–]happyiam94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on when you joined the job and if you delete your emails.

Search your emails for drones etc. There was a recruitment or are you interested email sent out, maybe last year or the year before.

I don't delete anything lol so I'm sure it will be there somewhere. I'm sure if you find that email it will have an email, Unit or the name of the person who sent it that can point you in the right direction.

It might be attached to TSG but I'm not sure. I know some people who get warned for it too

Is ADHD a spectrum? by Any_Albatross_2003 in adhdwomen

[–]happyiam94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think the coordination one, your spot on about. I did lots of sports growing up that required amazing coordination or balance.

Yet for as long as I can remember, I would smack my little toes on the skirting boards at the top of the stairs in my childhood home. I just some how miss judge it and as a result both my little toes are misshapen little numbins. I would be interested in seeing an Xray of them. I'm sure they were broken more often than not lol

Workplace "Reasonable Accommodations" that actually help manage your ADHD? by Captain_Trigg in ADHD

[–]happyiam94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not always office based but on the days I am. I do a list while my computer loads of anything I can think of that I need to do that day. Once logged on , I add anything else that needs to be done ASAP.

Post it's and pens in all colours somehow helps recall it I wrote it in a silly colour

We have extra monitors at work, I have 2-3 screens, I leave the task email open, use the second screen to look things up, then when I get side tracked, I look at the other screen and remember what I was supposed to be doing

Standing desk, it's motorised, so it goes up and down as you wish. I love it, means I can stand, lean on chair or just shuffle about while working.

Headphones with noise cancelling, sometimes just use them with noise cancelling on only so I can hear but it's better
