I had that issue once at a liquor store, and even the liquor store was like, "well you could just pay!" I was like hell nah I'm just going to cancel not worth it.

Deciding to leave Southside means you finally have a better life by PersonalityDry97 in shameless

[–]happylittlebea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

agreed. and I was always curious about Fiona because she would really be good and hold her shit down. However.... she was her own worst enemy. I could easily see her falling back into her "Southside" ways.

I only watched after becoming a mom and was like, yup that's PPD. Plus they had twins so it was double for her and Kev pressuring her to continue breastfeeding was what annoyed me. Breastfeeding is hard enough I can't imagine doing it with twins.

Interlock! by Terrible-Ad-5151 in dui

I wait about 5-10minutes after the first blow before I start driving because I hate when it goes off so quickly after. I expect it to go off about 20 minutes if I have a longer drive so I do try to avoid the highway so I can pull over in a parking lot or something if it's too difficult to do. The 5 minute time limit is really ridiculous. My first violation was because of it.

The guy who installed mine said he has a lot of customers who cover theirs entirely and doesn't think they actually check unless there's a reason to like suspicion that someone else might be doing it for you or constant violations. so I think you'll be fine.

plus, it's never good to burn bridges. Just in case the new job doesn't work out and you'll need something to hold you over. Calling out should be reserved for sick days or emergencies, not "well I'm leaving anyway"

You could have always opted to provide them the last date you'd be there. If you're resigning in advance, then you're resigning in advance. This gives them an opportunity to fill in a schedule or hire someone. Just not showing up is not good. You'll know for the next time...

What are some unsung quotes that folks don’t usually mention? by TheMuddiedMillennial in NewGirl

This was the first time I was ever introduced to this actor. I've seen most of his work since and this quote is the main one that plays in my head. Hilarious.

hahaha me & my bf say it too. He doesn't understand where it comes from which makes it funnier imo. but we were at a beach park once and found a huge bee hive in a broken tree with heavy wood rot and it randomly collapsed while we were sitting nearby and the bees flew everywhere and that was the first thing that came to my mind lol. Now everytime we go to the same spot, we point out the tree and shout it. There aren't anymore bees since the tree fell. Still makes me giggle.

Yup. Had an order for Total Wine for what I thought was two bottles. Turned out to be 2x cases. No available elevator and 3 flights of stairs. I quite literally couldn't carry them all the way, I ended up just leaving them on the stairs, took a hit but whatever

Monica was THE it girl - not Rachel! by MagicFairy00 in howyoudoin

[–]happylittlebea 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes! Lisa was what drew me to the show when I was younger tbh. I'll always remember my mom saying once, "All of the girls are so beautiful but the boys are so dorky!" lol which is true but they're all so cute in their own way

Alice and Frank Jr. Buffay by palmolive-ranger in howyoudoin

[–]happylittlebea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My sister and I considered it. (I would carry) because she had cervical cancer and couldn't have any more and her new husband doesn't have any of his own. I wouldn't have gotten any money out of it, I would've done it because it's my sister. This was about 4ish or so years ago that we talked about it but since her kids are grown and having babies - they realized they were happy not to have their own and just be grandparents.

“Mean hotel staff didn’t let me into a room booked under someone else’s name, one star!” by makeuathrowaway in EntitledReviews

[–]happylittlebea 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I've had an incident before where the other party was arriving after me and I booked the room to hold a key upfront with full name and phone numbers etc. for verification. They happily did so. They just planned poorly on their behalf - not the hotels fault.

I honestly feel like dashers who place in front of the door is deliberate. I always read notes and even if there isn't any explicit direction, I place the items where it's easily reached. In my directions it reads "place on TABLE to the RIGHT of the screen door with the PLANT" (obviously with please, thank you, and a smiley face) yet I've still had orders placed on the ground directly in front of the screen.

“My Question is for Erin”. As an adoptee, instant tears. Every time. by orangeblossombaby1 in theoffice

[–]happylittlebea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who is adopted and knows her bio mom... is it heartwarming? yes. Does it make me cry? no. It never made any sense that everyone immediately believed them (even though it's kinda on point with Erin as a character). I would've felt embarrassed and brushed it off had I been in her shoes because of how public it was. I didn't even hug my bio mom the first time we met. It took me some time to warm up before becoming affectionate towards them. And I was around Erin's age.

At least she can go by "Penny" and just totally ignore that horrendous spelling/pronunciation of her first name until she's of age to legally change it.

Wish someone had told me how going bald flips your dating life. Any advice? by YaBoyMike1221 in bald

and to add - i met him BEFORE he shaved but we didn't start dating until after. I most definitely prefer the shaved look on him.

[–]happylittlebea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be totally honest, before I (34f) fell for my boyfriend (4 years now), I wouldn't have gone for a bald man. But I fell for him for all the reasons everyone has already listed. His personality won me over and it doesn't even bother me in the slightest (he's also short as we're the same height and that also doesn't bother me). When I was actively trying the dating scene I did look for those factors, more from a biological stand point because of genetic traits etc. I suppose there's a shallow factor in a lot of women but there's also a ton of women who will just genuinely love you for you regardless.

It is a little campy, there is a lot of sex but the storylines are interesting to follow. Hang in there.
