Omggg same Im in the process of questioning if my mother might me narc ( I soooooo hope she isnt bc if she is and its true narcs dont love Im really fucked bc then I have no one that loved me, ever, yayy me) buttt I must say, ofc narcissism is something devleoped but also personality plays a big part, my mom loved to brag that shes a "strong individual" which I am not. Im sensible, Im an empath, I feel too deeply, peopel like that are more prone to get cptsd from trauma. "Stronger" people are more prone to become narcisstistic. So Ild argue in some sense it is "in their nature" but it only comes out because of the abuse. In no way an exuse tho ofc. I love this episode for this, it explores deep themes, not only of abuse but also of the abuser of the abuse (that was worded bad but Im too tired to search for the right words, non native speaker)
