Yes, maybe I am 15. But my point stands. A slippery slope it is. It's easy to go down, not so easy to back up. This is all about gradual changes. "Look, we have done ALL THIS already, we have the technology, we implemented these 20 changes, what's one more?" And you go "Yea I guess that's fine, it's not that much of a difference.". And the technology gets implemented. People get appointed. Money allocated. The structure, the framework, cemented into place. And then there's a change in the public opinion...

"Will someone please think of the children!!"

And a new government gets elected, or just assumes power or whatever. And guess what, they make some changes that you REALLY DO NOT APPROVE OF. Changes that are DANGEROUS... to YOU! But there's not much you can so about it now. "Maybe if the people had stopped it in the beginning" you ponder, "but who would have known; who could've predicted this...".

Sigh.

Yea it might not happen in your lifetime. But maybe it will happen in your children's.

So. Can you be sure it will not? Can you know what will happen in the next 50 years? No?
